Yeah I have a lower TStat.
Ordered the fan from Force-Fed today. If this resolves my issue I'll report back. If not its new rad time. You know I never thought of it before but would a more efficient fan help if the car is running hot on the hwy. I thought the fan turned off at speed? I didn't think about it before I got off the phone with you.
I hope this cures my issues.

In the recent models I would think that the fan should only be activated based on temp thresholds to reduce electrical load and help with fuel economy. but not sure about our dinosaur evos..lol
^ that's for the 8's and 9's so we don't **** off our 10 brothas

wire it up to run switched all the time. Bypass the fan control module or have your tuner turn it on sooner. Mine also ran with switched 12v. Remember with the evo IX it has the by-pass pipe running into the bottom of the t-stat housing to allow the cars to warm up faster. This isnt a bad thing but when you have heating issues maybe 20-30% of the coolant bypasses the radiator and continues back into the head.
yup thats the best way to keep it from climbing too fast. We have to do the same things with supras/2jz stuff. My starlet is like that. Even with a full size radiator and the stock fan shroud gone you have to run the fans on at all times to keep it cool and a low temp.

So fan comes in, stoked to put it on and the ****ing wastegate dumptubes are in the way. So DrivenFab is going to help me fab some dumptubes that will vent out if the hood for now and we'll probably put some flippers on it for daily driving later in. I just want to see if the damn fan will work.

About to redo the dumptubes. To add another wrinkle........in stop and go traffic pouring rain...temps stay low. So it only goes high on the Hwy. Hell in stop and go traffic the temps stay lower then when it's on the Hwy.
So the question of day; what would cause a car to run hotter on the Hwy but cooler in stop and go traffic

No fan is going on as we speak. So I ran the ac the whole time I was headed to DF's house and the highest it ever got was 202 in stop and go traffic with stretches at 65's for over 5 minutes. It was raining to be fair. Weirdly enough after picking Alex up and heading out I kept the AC on and hit the highway and it was fine.....cruising at about 75 but then when we got off the highway the temp gauge started climbing and evoscan showed 214 the highest and 207 the lowest. Having to get creative with mounting the fan and running the dumptubes for the wastegate out of the hood vent to create space right now. It's been a long day. I sincerely hope this works.

I actualy asked about it before.... you probably did because you had that baller Haltech
