yeah, I've been leaning towards trading my stuff in to MAperformance or going over to GA to the guy who built josh's motor for assembly.

Honestly it's finding a machine shop that I can trust and get the stuff back in a timely manner that has been a nightmare.

what do you need done? getting a block bored isn't a big deal (and you can go back and check after the fact for consistency if you're leary), or are ya too afear'd to tighten your own bolts? :-P

Really though, the price after sending a core for a 'crate motor' is close enough to what it'd cost me to do it all, that it's worth it.

heh, it's more of a time availability issue now... with the kiddo imminent, I just don't know how much time I'll have to dedicate to wrenching. That, and I'm a complete noob to tolerances, proper ring gapping, valve lashing, etc... so yeah, I guess I'm afraid to tighten certain bolts :-P

fair enough. you can get all of that information from the cam mfg's (of course, if you're still using HLA's, there's nothing to set for valve lash) and piston mfg's or the company that's selling you the internal bits. I figured you woulda dropped that old evo motor in the car by now; is it the one that's gonna get built?

Yeah, honestly the built motor is on the sideline for a bit, I got a evo IV longblock from Judd just to get it back up and going. With all the time I've spent in and out of the hospital with Amy, along with the OT I've been pulling I've barely had time to get it cleaned up to go over to chase for the wiring harness.

I second this.. I think they are both named Mark? Lol. He tinted my windows, I bought the tintprotector kit and he did his best to install it, he said it wouldn't stick properly and it messed up shortly after install. I eventually went to Serra and bought the newer 10+ window guards w/ felt on them and he replaced them and the scratched tint free of charge.

Stand up guy and business.

When I was there for my tint job, some lady had driven her husbands new M5 to have them tint the windows on it. He's got a damn good reputation from what I can tell. If I ever decide to do anything thats aftermarket indash or stereo related.. I will take it to them for sure.

Thanks for clearing that up. I've been talking to him over there about tuning my car, was just wondering. Is he the same guy that tuned your car?
