Yeah that was all. A lot of ppl complain of clunking on the forums, but mine hasn't clunked in about 6 months since i've torqued them down super tight.

It is normally around the Huntsville area as most of the people are within about an hour of the city. That isn't to say that we couldn't have one in Birmingham or something.

I am planning a dinner meet sometime soon (since it is getting colder and no one wants to stand outside as much) so maybe we can have some meets in Huntsville and Birmingham.

Sounds awesome. Looking forward to meeting new Evo owners in AL. Gonna miss my Evo friends when I leave the VA/DC/MD area, though. Our Capital City Evolution group is 137 Evos and growing right now.

anyone in the birmingham area looking to buy an engine hoist, or a set of 4 new hydraulic wheel dollies? I'm trying to clean out the garage for when I move in a few months. Obviously I want to sell these locally, and I'll give someone a good price. Pm me if interested.

Sounds good, maybe I can catch something at night. Since there is a lot of rebanding going on my weekends are tied up out of the area. Right now I'm tied up between getting a X or totally going the other way and getting a beater and saving up more, So I wouldn't feel right going to a meet with a chevy cruze

SoEvoL, It's more about the people than the cars. Just show up in the Cruze.

Agreed. I organized a meet early this year in which my Evo was down. I parked hard in a 2011 Corolla.

Not a f#ck given.

I'm reluctant to have them do a timing belt on my evo since I'm not sure they really know what they're doing. Should I bring it to a mitsu dealer in the birmingham area instead?
It really isn't too hard to change the timing belt and all the other components. I'm actually about to do mine for the 2nd time here shortly. It can be time consuming, but it's better to take your time and triple check everything before starting the car back up. If money isn't an issue, then I'd let the dealer (not carmax) do it. I do mine myself because I don't have the extra $ and I don't trust anyone else wrenching on my car, but that's just me.

Yeah, it's actually quite easy if you have air tools. I just had to re-do mine, because cheap-o me thought "meh, the tensioner is fine" when I did my headgasket.

Long story short, I had my wife bump the starter while I was looking for something didn't go through the compression stroke and spun backwards, taking the tension off the belt and making it skip a tooth. I was lucky I caught it.

Anywho, it's seriously a 6 hour job if you've never done it before. (unless your deleting the balance shafts, then you have to pull the pan too.) The biggest PITA is getting the stupid pulleys off of the water pump, etc.

Theres a link somewhere that have a step by step instructions if you are a bit mechanically savy. if not Id have someone else who done it before do it for you in stead. I did it on my Evo, my wife's Evo, and Chris Evo. and also the AMS tool comes in handy.

PS: last autocross of the season is this coming Sunday 11/4/12!!! C

I'll try to go to one of the meets, but for now im in the 335i. Car shopping is so tedious. Depending what day it is I might have something I want in mind, I've switched between 10 different cars already that I want to get. I've had 3 Evo sellers flake on me also and that's such a hassle.

I just don't have the time these days to do it. I also don't trust anyone else working on my car, but I don't think I have a choice for this job.

I haven't seen much on the forum about Serra mitsubishi, but one post was not very favorable. Anyone have any first hand experience with their service department? Should I go to Tuscaloosa instead?
