Atlanta Area Service
Atlanta Area Service
Hello to my fellow Atlanta area Evo owners,
I was hoping we could keep everyone informed of what dealerships are doing good work on the Evo's and which are to be avoided. The reason I'm suggesting this is that I've had varying experience with Atlanta area dealerships who worked on my Eclipse. I had some issues with Town and Country in Conyers. One of the techs told me they didn't see many turbo cars AFTER he finished working on mine. I later had to take it back to have them fix some things they messed up. Marietta Mitsubishi did not change my accessory drive belt at my 60K service like I had requested and gouged my side skirts while accomplishing recall work. I took the Eclipse to Troncolli recently and they seemed to do OK work.
I'm personally a good ways off from my first official maintenance event, but I will probably take mine in next week to get the oil changed (I should be at about 1000 miles) and get to get the passenger side, center vent fixed. The flap on the inside won't open all the way. I'll probably take it to the dealership I bought it from, Rick Case in Duluth.
Any input would be welcome and could save a fellow owner a lot of grief.
Best wishes and see you on 285,

I got mine at Ed Voyles. No problems, and I do all my own basic maintance work, so as long as everything runs like it is supposed to, I won't be visiting any service depts.
P.S. I try my best to stay away from 285 and I-85....

did the guys at rick case treat you nice? they seemed alright at first when i got my evo, but ever since they're just a bunch of jerks who know that i paid too much for my car. especially that sales manager (can't remember his name right now). i heard that most of the dealerships off of peachtree industrial are pretty good. i think that's ed voyles..
Rick Case seems to be ok so far. I took it in for my oil change and to get the vent fixed. No problems. They still have not been able to find the video we are supposed to watch when we take delivery of our cars. I still haven't seen it. I'm giving them until Friday and then I'm call the Mitsu 1-800 number.
The sales manager hasn't given me any attitude about how much the car costs. I think I've only seen one or two other people that have posted prices less than what I got mine for.
Best wishes,

? for the people who got their car from rick case.. did u get an orlando package with your car? i'm still waiting for mine and it's been over 3 months. i'm not in a hurry since i'm not planning on going til the spring or summer. just wondering..
I got my Orlando package about 3-4 weeks after I got the car. I've been meaning to call them about it. It is not really clear about when it expires.
For those of you who have no clue about what we are talking about, Rick Case gave us 3 days 2 nights, or was it 4 days and 3 nights, in Orlando with two days worth of passes to Universal. Kind of cool.

well not an evo But i bought my car from mistubishi south (aka southlake mitsubishi) and they found a problem that the mitsu place off peachtree didnt find there was a harness loose in the engine that disabled my left turn signal, left door lock and some other tech glitches and they didnt charge me but 15 bucks and they paid my towing to the dealership cause car wouldn start because of harness
Rick case is a bunch of **** heads. I bought a Silver evo with a roof from them and they said my NSX had a salvage title. I had a COPY OF IT WITH ME. I even called the DMV to tell them that. He said fine come get your car back, then when I got there the manager had me call his manager and he was laughing because he had the key to my NSX and would not give me it back. So I took the EVO and BEAT THE **** OUT OF IT and got my old NSX back. It had around 200 miles when I brought it back around June 15th. Also there service sucks, parts does not even know that they have the 3 gauge cluster. I goto Ed Voyles because I know the EVO tech and they are good. No BS I had my oil changed in 15 min and was out the door. Rick Case are a bunch of **** bags and if you do business with them you are not to sharp. Also I had a Mitsu Mirage POS and they charged me 1700.00 to get it to pass emissions and it still failed, I only paid 2,000 for the car. Also Team Mitsu parts dept sucks they tried to chage me 179 for the air guides and list is 149.00 I ended up getting them fromt he parts dept at peachtree Mitsu for around 110.00 Also Peachtree Mitsu service sucks. I drove my NSX to see what a tuneup on my 1991 Mitsu Mirage was going to be, he said 525$ I was like you have to be kidding he asked is that your NSX? I said yep he said well 525. I ended up getting it done for 200.00 so there service is a bunch of ****** as well. To sum this up Rick case and Team Mitsu Both suck for anything. Ed Voyles for service and Peachtree for parts. I did get my car for 28,000 with a wing and roof from Team mitsu so I guess a new car from there is not bad. :-) Hope this helps
the package expires from the day that u buy your car.. i asked about that when i asked where my orlando package is.. they still haven't gotten back to me yet, but i'll wait til mid-winter the latest. i'm not really looking forward to having to talk to them any time soon..
I've taken my car to Voyles Hundai/Mitsu for the water leak recall. I've also bought my oil filters and a copule of other parts from them.
I'm not sure but it seems they did the recall test pretty well. I usually get my oil and tire rotation done at a nearby lube place in Marietta (Sandy Plains rd.). I don't trust many dealer service departments but the Voyles Subaru in Marietta were very good with my WRX.... I really don't know where I'll take the car for the 15K, 30K miles etc.
By the way, where is this place I hear where they have a 4W dyno? Some EVO guys went there and got their cars checked....

Well, I had my 5000 mile service today. I called Rick Case and made an appointment this morning and had it in there by 9 AM. I was able to use my free oil change coupon that I got at the new buyer's orientation that they put on. The entire 5000 mile service cost me $16 and that was for the tire rotation (might have been $19, can't remember and don't want to go looking for the receipt). It took about an hour and fifteen minutes. The car is in good health.
I talked to the Evo tech about what I perceived as occasional gear clash. He took me into the shop and showed me actual synchros and other parts out of an Evo's transmission. He explained to me that the Evo is designed to be shifted quickly since it is a performance car (no groans, I know it is a performance car. I just don't drive like Tommi Makinen every time I go out). The synchros will actually stop spinning (I hope I'm getting this right) at the point just before the gear engages if you shift too slowly. This results in the grind I was feeling from time to time. We went out for a quick drive (with him driving) and he demonstrated the difference to me. I drove home and was a little quicker with my shifts and, sure enough, no clash at all. I guess I was just used to shifting differently with my Eclipse and had been conditioned to be overly careful with the drive train after reading all the negative posts on the forum.
As a side note, the parts he showed me were out of a trashed transmission, clutch and flywheel combo. There were some VERY messed up parts in the box he had. The clutch looked like a brillo pad. He said the person that used to own those parts had already gone through three clutches, including two aftermarket ones. We had a nice little talk about the different attitudes of the Evo drivers he has seen in relation to the condition of their cars.
So, on the whole, I had a good experience.
Best wishes,
