More people need to participate in legal racing events... the revenue should be used towards a cheap multi-use public track that is free for spectators and $10 to use the track or something of that nature

Well that sucks for them. I don't condone sr in any way and think it's beyond retarded. The only thing I can relate to those that were caught is I live near Philadelphia and the nearest track is an hour away. I can see how it's hard to resist getting your fix nearby illegally.

I lived in clearwater for quite awhile and now back back and forth.Where they do it is usually on the bridges you don't have to worry about traffic and have plenty of room to slow down. With that said street racing is dumb its just not worth it anymore especially when you don't live far from two nice tracks.

Keep it on the track!

I think that is very dumb to say the least. One thing that is crazy is the ticket. If you are a spectator why do you get a fine and lose points off your license. How do you lose points without even being part of the racing. The fine sort of makes sense, but the points are what seem out of place to me. Oh well, Glad i don't live in Florida.

While I think street racing is dangerous and stupid, I agree that a spectator should not get points on their license. It makes no sense and I bet with a good attorney that will be overturned. Just like when Florida started with the red light cameras and the construction zone fines doubling regardless if workers were there or not.

that's what they get, for the most part most of those cars are extremely slow! I do agree with the whole points on the license. Its not a moving violation its a civil infraction. So why the points. Now for the fine. I say make it higher if you have to! Keep at the track were the strip is sticky for the tires and you can actually see if your improving on your time.

yeah the points thing will not hold. so long as your willing to fight it. A friend of mine is a lawyer and he said they could not apply points when your not being charged for a moving violation.

+1

I would imagine it's pretty hard to legitimately apply points to someone's license when when the reason for the citation doesn't involve a moving vehicle driven or occupied by you. I don't even know how they can do something like that in the first place as it makes no sense.
