Next Orlando meet?
Alrighty guys just got off the phone with Xtremeboost they are at the track in Central Florida Road Course, to those that dont know this is a new 1/8th mile track, Xtremeboost is telling me that this track is amazingly sticky just like moroso and the good tracks not like Bithlo.
Well he says that at bithlo he would lower the pressure of the tire and at Florida Road Course 1/8th mile he is running 22psi VS 18PSi, his 60ft are in the 1.71's wthout even trying, over at bithlo he would do 1.90's trying hard meaning car isnt hoocking properly, many of you know how that works at bithlo, bottom line what this means is the car is sticking better in this new track, i guess they did good at prepping this track, wished they could prep bithlo like this.
Anyhow, we were thinking of holding this event in this thread at the Florida Course 1/8 mile instead of Bithlo, and we wanted to get you guys opinion.
We have a couple dates in mind that we will be sharing later on, i will let you know in advance that we are trying to do mid Sep or begining Oct. More details hopefully next week

With Domino's Evo connections with Orlando Speed World, I don't know why anyone would want to race a half length track.
With some hitters like Manie and Victor, Jeff, Felix and so on, I'm not sure why anyone would want to waste their time there.
I don't know too many people interested in non 1320' racing.

It was a known factor that there would be alot of opositions to 1/8 mile, like i said it is just an option, is better to have several options that only one, i know a lot of people dont like the 1/8 but lets play it by ear for now until we get the sand smoothed out.
At this point in time is about laying down some options and letting them play out for the CFL Evo community.
The schedules for Bithlo are not suitable until Oct 13th although we migh be able to work something for Sep 12 , i have a great relationship with the Owner of Bithlo and iam sheduled to meet with him monday on a tel-conf, this was the same way i set up last time's event, Tim @ Bithlo was super about letting us have the entire inside the gates place right next to the staging lanes.
However lets see how details will work this time.
your feed back and everyones else is very important because this event if for you guys make sure everyone is satisfied and confortable,,, heck i might not even be there and iam helping organize it

Nothing is set to pick one location over the other but here are the facts as I know them .
OSW ----
Fact - its a full 1/4 track which is great !
Fact - no matter what anyone does you can NEVER hook worth a crap there unless they "decided" to prep the track - and thats a MAYBE and you never really know when .
Fact - you can never get any sort of real racing between us because we will only have time to line-up maybe 3 times in a full day because of some POS leaving 2 gallons of oil on the track every 5mins !!
Fact - I would like to do 1/4 miles runs myself !
But this is what I found out today at CFRC :
Fact - The track hooks like crazy !!
Fact - I had to put air BACK into my tires because I was hooking too good ! Made all my runs at 32lbs tire pressure still doing 1.71 60' ( 10 times ) without even trying and I suck driving my own car ( thus why Matt drives it
)
Fact - I had like 12 runs in about 2 hours ( that is FUN , standing around waiting for 2 hrs not fun ! )
Fact - The track is close to everyone and everything , everyone can get in and out with ease .
So , with that said yes I know its just an 1/8 mile track and yes I'd much rather run 1/4 mile but the facts are as stated and theres nothing we can do about it unless we rent the track for a day for just us and at OSW thats a no no because they only allow 10 cars and theres always some sort of BS . If no one wants to do the 1/8 mile track then thats fine we can all still do OSW . I think that if anyone thinking of doing this was with me there today you would change your mind ! I'm 5 mins away from CFRC and I haven't been there because I just do not like the idea of an 1/8 mile run yet I went and I can say that it will be a long time before OSW gets me there again . I raced everyone and had fun doing it , this meet is in my mind a meet to have some good times and some good racing . You can actually race the same person here maybe 8 times in one day with no problem . Now think about that , you can actually have time to adjust and come back with no problem .
Last time at OSW we ran 2 twice , thats 2 times in like 5 hours . If we all decide to do OSW thats fine , I just think that we should seriously think things clearly . If we had some sort of serious competition there would be no other local track but OSW but this meet is just a get together and being able to run people at will is far better then MAYBE getting in 3 runs in ONE day . .
This is just me thinking after actually being there today and running my car . ALL thoughts and ALL ideas are very welcomed . This meet is NOT about ME or ANYOTHER local shop its about us and about having a good time !!

PS : did I say I had a great time at CFRC ?

CFRC sucks.
We appreciate your enthusiasm for the 1/8 mi track, however at my last visit there we sat in the lanes for 2 hours and moved 2 spots while a bunch of pieces of crap oiled down the track every other run. We got ate up by mosquitos with all the rain we've had and after 2 hours they wanted to tell us that the left lane is reserved for slicks when we specifically asked tech what the lane designation was and they made no mention of it.
Its a grassroots startup track and it shows.
We ended up just pulling out and leaving without ANY runs and money wasted. Needless to say we are disinterested in this "track".
Our next trip to OSW was such a relief as the professionalism showed, they demonstrated their years of experience and everything moved swiftly and smoothly.
After last years meet at an 1/8th mile track, one would think it would be overdue that the real racers could compete in full quarter mile action.

Its clear we all have our thoughts on things and all thoughts are welcomed . The idea for OSW is to somehow get them to rent us the track for a day but allow us more cars , going there like last time is a waste of time - we had 2 runs in like 5 hours of waiting for the 30 bikes and 50 other cars to run ! It doesn't matter if they've been doing it since 1827 , RX7's will ruin our day and theres nothing we can do about it- its just that simple unless we keep all POS's out and off the track ! I'm pretty sure we can rent out this track and we all can spend a full day racing with no issues ! Yes I would love to do OSW but that may or may not be a good idea ! Last time we had a meet there it was great seeing old faces but if I go to a track I wanna run and that didn't really happen . Fact is we ALL stood around waiting 1.5 hrs for some 2 gallons of RX7 oil to be picked-up from the track !
The guys at CFRC are getting better at what they do and it really was NOT bad today , in-fact it all went very well . If someone can convince OSW to allow us to rent out the track and run more then 10 cars that would be great ! People may be driving from as far as GA , some from Jacksonville , Miami and many other cities - it would suck for these guys to make such a drive to get in 2 runs and drive back home . We're NOT trying to do a competition , this is fun , a fun meet for the community !
And once again yes 1/4 mile would be GREAT , CFRC can be good because we all can actually get some good track times not just 2-3 runs after driving in some cases 8 hrs to get here .
Again , this meet is for everyone so we should see what everyone has to say and TOGETHER we all should come to one plan that fits everyones needs ..And yes if someone has been to CFRC on a saturday then yes they have like 200 cars there , mostly some young kids doing their thing . If we ask them to give us lets say 4 hrs before they open on saturday morning we have the track for ONLY us and we can do as we all wish as many times as we care to do .
Once again OSW is still a REALLY great idea and more of what I would love to do , I think we should be careful in how we think and plan this because we just cannot be careless in making plans which will affect so many people .
instead of just saying NO to an idea lets all get working at actually making this happen , at OSW or elsewhere .
Gainsville ?
Bradenton ?
???????????
I just do NOT like the idea of wasteing time standing around , I would travel to another city if I have to !

I'm going to give CFRC a try tonite then I will give my opinion, my last runs at OSW didn't have any traction at all, I used to cut 1.7 all day on my 60' if lucky 1.6 at OSW but now sucks big time
, if they only prep the track like they used to I'll say yeah lets do it there.

Well , today around 8am I got a call from the owner of CFRC and pretty much the track can be ours on a Saturday afternoon BEFORE they open the doors . We can be there at about 6pm and start running at around 7pm . The doors will not open to the public until 8pm and people do not even start getting there unit 9-10pm and the crowd shows up late on Saturdays - more closer to 11pm then it gets really crazy ! . This will give us the track for 1 full hour for US to run like wild apes in a ***** house . The management will also allow Vendors to set-up tents at a small fee and also they will open up for us for that for no extra fee to any of us ! This track moves very fast I'm sure within that first hour we'll all get in 8-10 runs each and we can all stay there longer as the doors open for everyone else .
Once again , this is JUST an option , for those that really want to make the 1/4 mile runs please lets do everything we can to set-up something like whats stated above .
Best Regards
Frank ..
NOTE: I'd love to run at OSW but lets ALL keep in mind that we're local and we can run at OSW and other tracks at will , some of the people coming have many hours of driving to get to ANY track and we WILL have people coming in from far we MUST make their trip worth it . This MEET is NOT a competition but a friendly MEET to have a good time . This MEET is open to ALL shops and vendors so ALL ideas and concerns NEED to be stated so we can get this going .
