Tampa Bay Area Speed Shop

Hello Fellow Lancer/Evo owners. Just wanted to know if anyone could give me some recomendations of a couple good speed shops here in the bay area. I am looking for a good shop to build a good relationship with, as I have many mods planned. Thanks!

Racing zone is a little different catering to people. If you don't tend to buy their stuff, they won't help you in anything. It's one of those things. You can get mixed results from them. There are approx 50% split people that have gone there either love or hate them.

I see thanks for the info. Well if they don't carry what I am looking for then I will go elsewhere then. At least I will check them out.

Some good shops?

Racing Zone is good for Parts, so is AE in Clearwater.

Secret Services is awesome when it comes to Turbo cars (in St Pete....mostly Nissan and Honda) and Turbo Toys is very well verse in turbo cars.

There is also a AWD Dyno for you EVO owners @ Mastro Subaru.

and I forgot....Taylor @ XAT now.

Hope this helps

and I can't forget... www.tamparacing.com
The only Tampa site you need!

TR's board. Oh please. There are a bunch of people who are not serious either in info or selling anything!

He's in better shape asking some DSM'ers.

Um....TR has a DSM forum, and they are very helpful. TR has 2 sides....the off-topic side and the tech side. Stay out of FFA, and it's not that bad for a local board.

Yes, I'm well aware that TR has TONS of sub forums catering to each niche.

I mostly go to the parts forum, and there are a bunch of people who "say that they are selling", but they have no interest in actually pulling the deal through completion. Their main interest seems to be "TTT" on their thread.

I rather see him getting advice from the "real" local DSM chapter in tampa or o-town. He could do so by hitting www.dsm.org and locate the regional chapter of DSM.

XAT Racing is a good shop to go to, yeah they specialize in 240sx's but they do alot of other work as well....I got my catback exhaust done by them.

Racing Zone i dont recommend, they are too expensive and liek the other guy said if they dont see that you are interested or wanting to buy something they will plain out wont help you.

Everything i have heard so far of secret services has been good so they must do some good turbo jobs.

Carlos, you mean me??? I don't really know anyone at racing zone.

I had a bad experience with them, and I'll never go through them, even if their distributor tells me to do so. They owned a somewhat monopoly in the import scene. W/ that in mind, they can mistreat you if they want to. The same could be same for O-town. the owner's bro owned a shop out there too.

IMO, that's why I believe competition is good for the market. consumers usually wins.

The shop here does suck, if you ask them a question they act like your bothering them, like it was said before about Tampa, if you don't walk in ready to drop serious cash they could care less about you. If you do go by Racing Zone Orlando, talk to Keith, he is the only one down to earth that will talk to the average young tuner who doesn't have thousands to drop every week on his car.
