Finding 93 Octane

look, i know im a few years away from buying an X. preferably GSR, but if i see a bargain MR or SE, ill get it. what i need to know is exactly how much searching does one have to do to buy 93 octane gas? cause i never seem to see it anywhere except Green Hills (upper middle class part of town) or the Vanderbilt area (nuff said).

then again im never really looking for it. am i just freaking out over nothing?

many evo owners run their cars on 91 oct. they dont even sell 93 oct gas in california, the best you can get is 91 for pump gas. in short, yes you are freaking out over nothing.

thanks, this is probably the only time i wanna hear someone say that. does it not hurt the car to run it on 91 since it would burn faster than 93? and should i get it tuned for 91 if i cannot find a sufficient supply of 93oct?

You'll be fine getting tuned on 91. Of course 93 is better (which I luckily have readily available everywhere near me), or you can look into going with E-85. That will of course depend on the availability of it in your area too.

thanks, that makes me feel better about the tuning. (will that void a warranty, i wonder?)

and i have only seen one e-85 pump in my life, and its a mile away from campus but i dont think i will go that route, i have a feeling lots of road trips are in my future.
