Arizona
Arizona
hey Guys, I'm thinking about moving to Arizona in the near future (in ~2 years). My plan would be to go there buy a house and then get a job, the thing is that i never been there, have couple of friends that moved and they love it. Just wanted to ask people who live there, how is the way of life, job market, i bet anything is better than NY nowadays. I looked at houses and they are pretty cheap compare to NY and much nicer with swimming pools and 2 car garages. Please give me your thoughts.
Do you guys have 93 octane gas:
Thanks

If you can stand the heat I think AZ is a great place to live. Compared to NY the pay rates are lower in general but the cost of living is much les as well. Here's just one example: My in-laws live in Jersey and their property taxes are about 11K a year... mine is AZ on a house nearly the same value ($300K) is around 2K a year. Not bad! So other than the oven like summers the rest of the year is beautifull! Good luck on the transition, and keep us posted.
Depends on how much Spanish you speak.
LOL. If you're looking for a nice area that's not too overpriced, and fairly close to downtown I would look into Chandler (East side of Phoenix). A lot depends on where you will be working too. Traffic kind of sucks in the rush hour times... not compared to NYC, but in general it's bad.
It's not an actual "town" but the Arrowhead area is very nice, and there's a ton of stuff to do on that side of town (West side). And on the flip side the East valley has a lot of entertainment options as well. The best advice I can give you is to come out and look at several areas, and scope out the surrounding areas as well... I wish I did that a little more before I moved into the house I have now.
Oh well. I hope that helps a little bit.

Ah! Now I get it. 93 Octane... sorry.
I use whatever the cheapest gas is. I know I should use the better stuff but I can't really afford it at the moment. I haven't ever tried the higher octane gas in my GTS, but it seems to run just fine on the regular unleaded.

is it really that hot? i prefer hot and not humid rather than hot and really bad humid, and you can have a private pool in the back of your house. I'll go and visit in the summer to see how it is.
Thanks guys

It's not bad until it gets over 110 degrees... which was about a month straight last year. And you are 100% right about the humidity. Durring Monsoon's it gets pretty nasty but that doesn't last long if at all.
