need a hand from charleston evo/dsm owners
so as soon as I get my bonus and tax return I'm looking to do some upgrades to the evo. I'll be calling on Shep for a trans and new clutch. I'll be swapping cams and throwing larger injectors in to go e85. I'd like to do the work myself but I am honestly scared to death to mess with anything timing related ie. cams. I'm looking for some guys who wouldn't mind lending a hand and possibly a garage (I'll be moving to a place with a garage soon). any help would be awesome and not to mention it'd be great to meet some ppl from around the area.
i would honestly take it to a shop... if you don't feel comfortable working on your own car... you'll be better off not trying to save a few bucks... only reason i'm saying this is... is bc i just got burned recently... i had someone help me with a cam install... timing ended up being off and blew the motor... now i have to rebuild my motor instead of paying $400 for a cam insatllation...
just my .02cents
my evos been down for a year... bc i can't afford to rebuild it at this time... don't want someone else to be in the same situation as i am... you can't really blame the person who tried to help you in the first place...

yea true. that's really the only thing I feel uncomfortable doing. I've pulled quite a few motors and transmissions in my day but have always paid to have timing belt stuff done. I most likely will pay someone to do the cams but I'd rather do the trans myself. 400 vs 1000 sounds way better to me.
