Please go in to detail about forged as I am looking for a shop in GA. My "For the love of god don't go there" is reserved for TOPSh!t and I make it no secret. It has nothing to do with hp numbers, it has to do with their lack of customer service and the number of evo's and sti's in atlanta that have blown motors with thier tunes. Might I add its usually in 3-6 months of the tune.

Forged:

- The owner of my car worked there as a tech and their tuner tuned it and the motor blew.

- Batmanz51 took his car there to get tuned and it left running on 3 cylinders (Somehow they ****ed up one of his coilpacks

- His buddy with the high horsepower G35 has a LONG history with them (You can google it but it was pretty crappy what happened with him).

- I have personally some of the cars tuned there only to go to Topspeed and need the whole map re-done (Too much timing, on the verge of blowing up, etc).

- Their head sales guy didn't start having Forged tune his race prepped Evo until recently. We had conversations years ago about why and he didn't say it in so many words but basically he wouldn't let them near his evo with a 10 ft pole. He has since changed his tuned and does rock a Forged Banner (maybe he trusts them now).

- They are really good with GTR's it seems so I don't know how many Evo's they tune anymore.

There are a bunch of other things that has happened to former customers of theirs (over charged/under delivered) but I don't really know anyone who goes to them anymore.

Like I said despite their mishaps on Evo's if I owned a Skyline I would take it there for sure. Can't deny them that they have done very well on those. Head tuner/Owner makes trips to Dubai to work on GTR's.

Oh I've heard from a few people someone who has a twin turbo Gallardo blew his motor up and is now suing TopSpeed. I would love to know the full story on that but its the internetz......not even sure if its true.

Any particular reason you aren't considering Scott?

I want eveneything done in house. I dont want someone to do the mechanical work and then have someone that is seperate from the shop tune the car. If a person screws up, there would be no accountability.

Orlando isn't far from you is it?

Honestly if you want a one stop shop take your car to him. I know there's people that can't stand him on this site but show me a car he's blown up tuning or a motor he put together that was crap.

Good luck either way. I know you've had some crappy luck as well like me.

I ended up going with Scott and could not be happier with the results. Don't know all the fuss was/is about him either to me he didn't see cocky or anything. Just seemed like a person that knows what he is doing. Worked with me on my budget and all. Overall like I said I could not be happier and I'm glad I found a person who I trust with my car. As stated his track record is above all the rest mentioned as well so.

I think there was alot of back and forth with him about his dyno and the numbers some of the cars he was tuning put out.

That was before my time so I can't really speak on it but suffice it to say he's run afoul of a few of the "heavies" on this site and of course when you have a shop sometimes you can't make everyone happy .

He's confident about his abilities and methods and sometimes people mistake that confidence for arrogance.

Thats about all the bad i can say.

I've had some pretty crappy luck lately and he has been the one positive constant for me. If he would open a shop in GA (HINT HINT) then I know where I would take my car.

Not far at all, its onlly 45 mins from where I live. The Evo and all the parts are still in Ga though. Because I don't know if I will be in another state due to work, it will be Aug or Sept before I can take my car somewhere. I haven't heard anything bad about TTP's work, which is msking me lean to bringing it to him. I want a shop/ tuner I can trust. I just want 3 calls.
1st call - Here are the problems with the car, $XXXX.XX to fix it.
2nd call - Car is running good and we will put it on the dyno shortly.
3rd call - Car made XXXwhp, and is ready for you to pickup.
No other bs

From what I have seen Scott is very straight forward. I talked to him for a month before I brought my car to him. I wish ttp was closer to me so I did not have to go to Atlanta for just tuning because I would like them to do more work down the road. I would say pick up the phone talk to them get a feel how their customer service is and go from there. When I was shopping around he was the only one that talked to me for over 45min about what I had done to the car and what my goals are vs other ppl just saying it's xx amount.

Scott is your one stop shop, NO BS. I'm going through it right now with the last shop I thought I could trust in Atlanta. Depending on how it goes i will be letting my hair hang out and airing a few performance shops.

All depends on how it goes in the next few days.

Well I have been going to him for a while and have not had any issues.
I have known him since the DSM days and he has always treated me well and made recommendations to make my car better. My car is a daily driver so I can't afford to have it down. If you want no BS take it to him or give him a call.

I posted a brief synopsis of the crap I've been through with this car in the modification regret thread in the general forum. it doesn't include how I got to the point of blowing my motor in the first place.

Thats a whole other story altogether.

Suffice it to say I've been broken by this whole ordeal. Maybe after i get the car back and I can drive it for longer then a few weeks without there being any problems I'll feel different but for right now I'm seriously so indifferent about my car I could easily sell it right now.

I'm holding off doing anything drastic until I get it back from Spec-Ops. This is my last stand. After this I'll just buy a fast car and do bolt ons to it myself and not mess with shops ever again.

Sorry guys I don't mean to be debbie downer but aside from all the money spent to fix "mistakes" other shops made I think what hurts the most is dealing with people who told me they were my friends and I was gullible enough to believe they had my back like they said they did.

Lesson learned. I'm not a dummy. I get it now. Its all business. its all good until something bad happens and you are on your own. I've been burned enough to know I just dont have the will to keep doing this and keep believing in empty promises.

I'm taking a page out of Kevin's book and when I get my car back I'm not repping ANY shops. No free advertisement off my money. They only shop decals I will have on the car will be of shops that haven't screwed me over (I need to get in touch with Scott to get a small TTP sticker).

Spec-Ops has been good to me so far. They seem genuine and all, but I've been down this route before. Its kinda like getting screwed over in a relationship/friendship. Takes a while to trust again.

Thats def. the point I'm at. I'm grateful for friendships that were made that started out as cars but grew into something more (amf, redridingboost, psych, strscrm and a few others whose screen names I can't remember), but I can safely say that my enthusiasm for this hobby has been beaten into submission and I've lost my passion.

Hopefully Spec-Ops can get me going and I can find it again. Its alot of pressure to put on them and its not really fair, but I can't help the way I feel.

I still logon here like crack so regardless of what happens I'll be around.
