Need Help From Some of the FL guys!! or Gals!!

Hey,
So I am a fellow Evo owner in need of some local knowledge!! I am from Seattel but will be heading to Orlando for a trade show in November and I would like to spend a week after my show to stay at the beach and get my surf on!! So, my question is; where the hell do I go?? I have seen some stuff about Cocoa Beach? It looks like it has good surf and places to stay, but I do not want to stay with the tourists. I would want a place that has rental houses/condos on the beach with great beaches/surf. I will also have some out of countriy business associates so I want to make sure the area we go is a good one...................
Technically this is not EVO related, but if anyone could give me some pointers I would really appreciate it!!!!!

AA

Cocoa is where to stay, if you want to surf. The waves aren't bad, but it happens to be the shark bite capital of the world (especially near the boardwalk). Just be careful, and you should be okay. Are you planning to rent a board?

if you are going to be in Orlando I would say Daytona its right off i4(main highway from orlando) tons of places to stay you can check out the track while you are there. Its less then an hour from orlando down i4.
