I do not like to compete in fishing tournaments. I just like to catch them and eat them. I could eat a fish fry everyday!!!

So how is the racing scene down there? Auto X, road racing, drag racing and street stuff?

I currently own an Evo IX with a 2.3 and FP Black, 2010 EVO SE with a couple bolt ons, The Buschur Racing wide body Magnum EVO, a drag talon that will never come out of the garage and an Escalade EXT. Always looking to have some fun!!!

AutoX.... SCCA is pretty active down here, good bunch of people. They hold a lot of stuff near the beach as well as charlotte.

Road Racing.... you have Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, Road Atlanta is 1.5hrs from Greenville, Charlotte Motor Speedway 1.5hrs from Greenville, Atlanta motorsports park, VIR is 5hrs from Greenville, Roebling Road in So. GA, Barber is 5hrs from Greenville, not sure how far Sebring is.

Drag.... Zmax in Charlotte, Atlanta Dragway, bunch of 1/8mi dotted around the upstate, not sure of anymore

Well that is great to know that there is a good amount of tracks and events down there. I have been MIA in the racing scene for about 2 years now due to my stupid back. Had 3 back surgeries already.

Another question I have. How are cops about window tint and front license plates down there? They are horrible up here about those two things.

SC doesn't require front plates. They're weiners about tint though.

So what is legal for tint down there? In WI, it is 50 on the front and 35 in back.

That is great about the front plate thing. I have gotten so many tickets for that it is not even funny.

Must not be that many EVO owners in South Carolina...

I have 20% all around on my yellow z06 and I have yet to have a problem with it. It has been about a year and a half since I tinted the windows. I will probably do the same on my Evo this spring before it gets hot

I like the look of 20% better than 35%. But, at night I have a hard time seeing because it is so dark.

How **** are they about loud exhaust down there?

You could always stagger the tint, i did this on my Honda prelude I had back in college, and it came out quite nice. I went that path because in Ohio where I went to school you were only allowed 50% on the passenger windows. I went 15 rear window 25 on the rear quarter glass 35 on the passenger glass.

Please excuse the extra crappy cell phone picture. I couldn't afford high tech stuff back then

To answer your question about the loud exhaust, I never had an issue with my WRX STI, running damn near a straight pipe, and my friend running an SLP loud mouth on his corvette (I feel like I am going deaf in his car, so I refuse to ride with him anymore), has never had an issue either.

To be honest, I am wondering the same thing. I am new to the Evolution game, I just picked mine up this past November. A high mileage project, (never been modified oddly enough).
