I hate to say it but if its not modded keep it that way cause it will save you tons in headaches in the end. Im fully built but I wish I was stock from time to time. Keep an eye out for a BBY with a cage coming to town in the near future.

Sounds good, when you get into town drop me a PM. Meet up and grab a beer, plus I'd like someone who has had an evo for a while to check out my car to see if there is anything wrong that I am missing.

so far 4500 (not so easy) miles and no issues. Bought it with 169k miles.

I have dark factory tint on my Escalade in back and 35% up front. I do not like the way it looks. The guy that tinted it said if I put 20% up front, it would be a shade darker than in back.

I hope there is a good tuner in that area. I do all the work on my own cars but I do not tune. I should really learn that but computers **** me off.

I'd be happy to give you a hand and show you some of the ropes. I tune my own mildly modded evo and can give you a hand with yours. I can give you a quick rip in mine before hand. I am just outside of greenville sc.

It isn't as difficult as you think if you take it one step at a time and learn what your car likes and doesn't like.

I will definitely take you up on your offer, by any chance are you open sometime this weekend? I see in your signature that you are a NASA-SE instructor, I've been at every NASA se event in 2012, well except for the cancelled/rescheduled AMP/VIR event. I usually only drive at CMP since its less than an hour from my place in case something breaks. Will you be at the February event?

This guy could probably help you with tuning needs if you are near Charleston.

If not, I would suggest heading up to North Carolina, because to be honest, there are really no good shops in SC. Head up to the Fayetteville area and go see Force-Fed Performance or Spec-Ops, can't go wrong with either.

No front plate laws in SC, thank god, I HATE front plates...

27% tint law in SC...I lived down there for close to 3 yrs after I bought my evo & had 20% tint on it since a week after I bought it. 20% & 27% are so close it's hard to tell them apart unless the cop has one of those tint measuring meter things. I got asked once about my tint, after being pulled over for doing 12mph over, I told the cop I asked & paid for 27%. If it is actually 27% the tint shops put a small tint legal sticker in the corner of your windows. I told the cop I guess they forgot to put that on.

I saw property taxes, etc mentioned before. I still own my house in Myrtle Beach, which I currently rent out. My house is 7 yrs old +/- & I purchased it 5 yrs ago. Since I purchased my house, property values have dropped drastically, so obviously property tax has gone down a lot as well. Property tax in SC/Myrtle Beach is already damn low. My house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage, slightly over a 1/4 acre land, house is in a culdesac, it is fenced in with woods behind it. 6000 gallon koi fish pond with a water fall in the back yard, etc, etc. I just paid my property tax bill for 2013, $480 for the year....Yes, you read that correctly, for the year.

I love SC & love my house down there. Unfortunately a couple yrs after I graduated the job market took a complete sh*t. And of course that was when I was between jobs & I ended up moving to NC for a job.

Thanks for the info 06MREvo. That had me wondering a little when I seen how low the taxes were when I pay over $2600.

I used to race up here quite a bit. Then I broke ties with pretty much all the people I raced with for many different things. A couple of people that ran things up here did not know how to follow rules and make rules to benefit them. The others, I bend over backwards to help people out and then when I need help, they are nowhere to be found. Done with that crap.

Time to meet some new people!!!
