Tampa Bay EVO check-in
Oh, By the way ordering the cluch Monday, talked to the mechaninc today. Hope to have it in before the meet.
WORKS Clutch Kit CK2:
Ideal for the weekend Road Race, Drag Race, AutoX and/or RallyX driver looking for additional holding power beyond the Clutch Kit CK1. This set-up will NOT increase pedal stiffness.
- Heavy-duty street & racing system
- Holding capacity: 115% over stock
- Super-Duty reinforced pressure plate unique pressure ring design
- Sprung disc steel backed Carbon/Kevlar staggered design
Comes complete with:
- Pressure Plate
- Clutch Disc
- Throw-out Bearing
- Alignment Tool
Also ordering the:
WORKS Spin:
A lightweight flywheel reduces rotating mass for quicker throttle response and a livelier and faster revving engine. The WORKS Spin, weighing a scant 4.2Kg, will make rev-matching on downshifts that much easier and allow the turbo to stay on boost more effectively. While the technique for launching an EVO with the lightweight flywheel is somewhat different, we have found drivability to be perfectly managable (even with the notorious steep hills in San Francisco) and any trade-offs well worth it. The WORKS Spin features a hardened center section and replaceable steel wear area for easy and cost-effective maintenance.
- Reduced mass equals increased acceleration
- Bolt secured OEM ring gear
- 6061-T6 aircraft grade billet aluminum
- Replacable Steel friction surface
And:
The WORKS clutch line is not only the absolute best on the market, it is also designed to meet the Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Standard MVSS-106. Unique in offering a Teflon-Kevlar-Stainless line our performance clutch line increases direct pedal feel to the clutch due to no appreciable volumetric expansion in the clutch line. The stock rubber clutch line is approximately 2 feet long! The WORKS clutch line is a Teflon tube wrapped in Kevlar for strength, a protective coating, then the stainless steel braiding, and finally a WORKS blue shrink covering for additional protection. EACH and EVERY line is Pressure tested to 4000 psi, and DOT approved. Direct replacement for the factory clutch line and sold as a complete kit with hardware and installation instructions.
Got a great deal.

ttiscio, what are you paying for that clutch parts? I'm in the market for a better clutch so I'm looking into all possible options. Right now I'm looking at the RRE "no name" clutch for the sake of my driveline warranty.
Luckily ma dads a mechanic with a shop so install is not a problem, but a clutch is not something I want to make a habit of installing; so I want to get a good one the first time. ;-)
Thanks for the help!

Jab,
Check out the site, www.worksrally.com, I just got off the phone with them ordering mine. I ordered the CK2, flywheel and cluch line above. The prices are in the site. Just remember when you order a cluch from them it has the EVO in mind. They only make parts for EVO's.

Man, did everybody drop off the face of the earth. No posts in a week.
Jab,
Have the install set up for Saturday. I put pictures of the clutch in the mods section of my profile if you are interested.

Just wanted to drop a post here. Here is a link to the Makes & Models Show from June 12th in Tampa. I posted all of the pictures from the show and there is also a pretty interesting story with pictures about my experience on the way to the show.

I can't believe you only got away with a busted windshield. That is bad luck followed by good luck.
Me and a friend of mine are coming down to Florida this week. I'd really like to meet some of you all and see what kind of work you all have done on your Evos. Me and Joe both own Evos here in Oklahoma. We are not bringing them, we are driving my Jetta instead (better gas mileage and saves Advan miles).
