Knoxville, TN Evo club.
Pardon my ignorance (I've never even been to a drag strip), but why would someone "not know what to do on a 1/4 mi if the hadn't first learned on an 1/8"? Isn't it the same thing except one is longer? Also 1/4 times relate better than what people are doing nationally. By that I mean if you tell someone you ran x.xx in the 1/8, that doesn't mean as much to most people.
I would love to do either, but realistically I probably won't do it with my car. It's my daily, and launching these cars takes practice to get right. But if you do it wrong your clutch will be fried, and there's a high likelihood of driveline damage. Roll racing events are something I would really be interested in. There's a guy named black-E with a big power X who is destroying all kinds of other impressive cars, and it looks like a blast!

I am not trying to insult you by no means, yes you are right about the 1/4 is longer. What I was saying was if you never drag your car, it's good to practice on an 1/8th because the first 60ft matters. If you have a horrible 60ft and missing gears and all...it's not going to matter what you do on the 1/4. That's why I said I am glad we have a local 1/8 to practice on before going to a 1/4. Also if you are wondering about putting wear and tear on your evo, then yes drag racing is not for you.
Just to pump a little life into this thread, everybody whose still here post up your evo related updates.
As for me, I think I'm almost done with my E85 tune. I'm making a hair over 450hp and in somewhere around 365 tq. When I get a chance I'll post the dyno graph. On 93 I made 405 and I don't remember the torque #. The MHI is a great turbo, and all the other parts are playing nice together. I wish I had went with 1300 cc injectors instead of 1000s , it's turning out fine though.

I haven't made any changes to mine, but e85 tune is definitely a next thing on my list. As soon as I get the e85 that should put me at low 400s. I cant wait to see what it feels like with 400hp. LOL
whats up guys! haven't been on here in awhile. I wrapped my evo blue, its 3m m227 matte blue. Also here is my latest, pull. Not my final revision, but still nice.
That looks great, that looks like a clean job! I hope to be at the next Harper C&C as well, which is April 24 btw. I'm going to get into auto X also now that my car is running strong. To anyone listening, come do it, there were no evos at the last event.

I should be at the cars and coffee along with a few more evos from around here hopefully. I need to ad you on facebook since we do have small meets from time to time and all kinds of other events.
I just had my car switched to e85 and I love it. Getting a new walbro450 put in this week and then little more tuning. not sure how much hp im making but cars pull very stong now. Im at about 24psi right now, after new pump install im hoping to get it turned up to 28 or so.
^ thanks, I was excited about the dyno #, it's more than I was expecting! The walbro 450 is what I'm using and is a great choice, congrats on turning up the boost!
I'm not on Facebook, but I do hope to go to the cars and coffee.

id love to see what my car does on the dyno. got the fuel pump put in along with some custom adjustments made by my tuner. He is gonna make few more adjustments to the tune to make it run perfect, turn the boost up to about 28 psi. Also im going with speed density this time. I love it how the cars feels on e85. so much more power. Ill try to get a few evo owners from around here to join for C&C. we had 10 evos go to a small car meet we had here in Chattanooga 2 weeks ago, that was a lot of fun.
