Read: >>>>Florida EVO/STi Meet On May 1st<<<<
Well, it's here.
The official EVO meet is set for Saturday, May 1st from 8am-1pm at Bradenton Motorsports Park. Followed by a cruise to a restaurant for lunch and just to hang out and get to know more EVO owners.
I will be leaving early Saturday morning about 7am. Those of you that are interested in cruising to the track together, email me and let me know.
We can meet at the Best Buy on I-275 and N. Dale Mabry Hwy in Tampa. Then take the highway to the track.
All other Evo owners who wish to meet at the track may organize their own cruise from their city to meet us at the track.
Bradenton Motorsports Park will be open from 8am-1pm for test & tune. Try to get there early as possible. I will try to reserve a spot near the fence and staging lanes for us to park.
Following the test and tune will be a cruise in from Bradenton Motorsports Park to a restaurant for a little dining and hanging out.
The restaurant of choice has not been chosen yet. But I was thinking about the Cracker Barrel near off of exit 220 towards the track on I-75 South. Please feel free to post any suggestions for dining as it is not set in stone.
For those who haven't been to the track before:
-I recommend bringing a cooler with drinks. Drinks are
about $2 at the track and can become costly on a hot day.
-If you plan to use ice to cool down your car, you might want to
buy your own ice and bring it in a cooler. Bags of ice at the track
are $2.
-If you have a portable chair, bring it as there will only be stands/
bleachers to sit in.
-Sun glasses are recommended as well for the bright Florida
days.
-It's $10 to race and $5 to spectate. Hope to see you racing and
not slackin'.
-Bradenton Motorsports Park is a 1/4 mile track. Here's a link to
their site. http://www.bradentonmotorsports.com.
Check out the "direction" link for info on how to get there.
-If you have a helmet, bring it. I will have mine on hand. They
usually don't hassle you about it unless your car is haulin' ****.
-Last but not least, they have race gas available and the pumps
will be open for you high boost guys that need it. I'm not sure of
the price, but I remember it being around $5 a gallon.
I hope to see a lot of you there. Remember to tell all the Evo/DSM guys you know. The more the merrier. Depending on the turnout of this event. I may hold more in the future. Perhaps some Auto-X Evo events or EVO vs. STi challenges. Everyone counts!
Please post here if you are going to attend. Also be sure to include your first name and a contact email so a confirmation/reminder email can be sent to you.
If you know any Suby WRX or STi owners. Feel free to invite them as well. I think it will be fun to do a little EVO vs. STi challenge.
Feel free to post some ideas or suggestions. All will be considered.
Last thing. Feel free to post a link to this post in other DSM & Subaru sites.
Hope to see you there.
Take care,
-Tony

Cool!!! I was at the track today and was talking to a guy from Tampa that has an '03 WRX and his friend has an STi. He said he will try to get his friend to bring out the STi.
I'll email you when May 1st nears so we can arrange the time for meeting up.

Just a quick note. A week prior to the meet I'm gonna need a head count on the number of people attending and were everyone would like to dine at.
I'm gonna make reservations and talk to the management of the selected restuarant about having a reserved parking area for all the people attending.
How's that sound?
