NC - Who's up for a Dynoflash day?

Al said he would make the trip down to Raleigh/Durham for custom ecu tuning if we get the requesite # of participants. His flash alone has made 280whp on an "everything stock" Evo

Chime in if you are interested.

would have to before the vishnu event in Atlanta at the begining of october.
would also have to be more cost effective.

Again, 280whp was what a "stock" evo made. No, aftermarket parts at all. That's 45-50 wheel hp improvement.

BPU mods to your car (turboback, air intake, boost controller) will make slightly over 300 whp.
FMIC, a little more.
Hard Pipe - a little, little more.
Cams and Gears - a little, little, little more.

$450 for a 80 wheel hp bump ain't too shabby

Curiously, what wheel hp can an Evo make with the following mods:

1) air intake
2) turboback exhaust (2.5", 3", whatever)
3) AEM EMS

- 300, 310, 320???

IIRC (TurboDawg) is making low 12 sec (12.1 - 12.3) passes with Al's TTM re-flash($199.00 or $99 to prior customers) with the help of cams and clutch. I might follow his path...

evo ate (another NC member) made 345whp with just intake, cams, and catback exhaust tuned with the EMS.

That's what I thought. Take away the cams and were at the same hp 310 at the wheels or so.

From previous posts on Evo M I've gotten the impression that Al is pretty aggressive in his tuning. This may be true it may not, I don't know. I know 45-50 hp at the wheels seems to be alot more than what other tuners are getting out of their reflashes. So I guess my question is: What is his safety margin? I'd love to make more power but, I don't want to have to take my connecting rods home in a bucket. If other tuners are not getting these gains why not? I'm pretty sure Al was kicked off of this site or atleast put in time out. Why? Please don't just start talking out of your *** on this. If you have something informative to add please let me know. I don't want to start a huge pissing match. I'm sorry if this is off topic I just want to be clear on these things before I say I'm in.

I'm not knocking Al's skills as a tuner, as he certainly knows his ****. All I'm saying is that some of his cars turn out a lot better than others. I know that Evo Ate made 310 with intake, catback and EMS, with a conservative tune and his powerband was awesome. Tuned by Alex at Eurospeed. I would be interested though, depending on how much he would charge for a couple corrections. I don't really need a full custom tune.

I was at the last Vishnu Dyno day at Dyno4mance outside of Atlanta and I saw a couple of Dyonoflashed cars get dynoed. They were all mail order flashes and they netted about 20whp. Check out Vishnu's reflash for a great margin of safety and drivability. Check out the old dyno4mance dyno day thread from back in May. There is allot of good info in that. I have a reflash, xede, cams, cam gears, turboback with high flow cat, and a custom tune and I put down 325whp with a great power curve. I know there are cheaper ways to go with probably more hp, but I wanted a margin of safety wich I got. En1gma19 is right AEM EMS is awsome and a great way to go.
