Angry Official Frances Damage Report Thread

*Offical Frances Damage Report Thread*

Well the wind a rain FINALLY stopped about 1/2 hr ago here in Gainesville, and it looks like it might even clear up later. The damage? Pretty extensive for being so far inland. I haven't had power for THREE FREAKING DAYS! I'm at Starbucks now (have to have some Chai and some AC). My neighborhood has a TON of debris and fallen trees. A few fell on some houses, two huge ones fell across the road, blocking us in, another large one took out a good portion of our fence... etc etc.

I'll post pics as soon as I get home to take some pictures.

The good news is, no damage to the house or the vehicles parked outside, and only 3 deaths reported that I heard of, and those were more stupidity related. The yards look like absolute TRASH though. We live in a very wooded community, and its unbelievable.

On the bright side though, there won't be half as many leaves to rake this fall...

How'd everyone else make out?

Reporting from port orange here. We lost alot of shingles from our roof. Enough that we had water running into our attic over the garage, were the evo was parked. Well, enough water got into the attic that the sheetrock ceiling of the garage got wet, and well when sheetrock gets wet, it gets weak. I had a nice chunk of sheetrock fall on the evo putting a decent size dent in the roof Insurance has been called but the dent doesnt look bad enough that it'll cost more than my 500$ deductible to fix. My roof on the other hand will be many thousands of dollars to replace. My evo had to sleep outside last night for the first time since I bought her I've got pics on my camera but with no power at home i can't get them uploaded yet.

things would be SO much better if only i had power at home. i just heard today we likely won't have it until SATURDAY! great. just in time for the next hurricane to knock it out. i think i'm just gonna camp out in starbucks. its nice and cool in here, and smells a hell-of-a-lot better than the funk in my humid, humid house.

Miami is actually pretty good as Frances missed us. Some rain, some squalls and a lot of cabin fever. The people are real stressed over Ivan and getting stuck at home all weekend.

I live a little south of palm beach, more around boca in parkland. I lost power for 4 days tons of trees are down, smashed roofs, huge trees on cars and flooding. Some BMW got smashed by a tree and ripped the axels off. Not a pretty sight :-/
