I 40 was damaged around the 2-15 mile markers on the east bound side. (heading toward charlotte)

it was one lane for about 2 miles. other than that smooth sailing. i drove thru 2 days after IVAN.

So what's the latest on the trip.?

I figure we could head out on Friday Oct. 29th in the afternoon check in at whatever hotel we pick out, and get to know one another and get a game plan for the next day. Let me know what is decided on a hotel or do I need to make group plans for a hotel.
I don't know where I-40 was damaged during the hurricane but I was thinking about taking an alternate route, via. I-85 to the 74 then to 64 into Franklin, NC where we will be staying. There are plenty of pretty cool roads to go on along the way to Deals Gap. Does this plan sound OK or not? Post up and notify on plans for this weekend I will definitely be going and anyone who wants to go is more than welcome so let me know. Any questions pm me. (From previous reply)


It's still on here is some info about the trip. There is a hotel link for Franklin, NC RaleighEVOVIII mentioned somthing about possibly Rob looking into a group rate. If he doesn't post soon with some info I'll personally look into it. And will have an answer by the middle of next week 10-11-15-04.

Man, I would love to join you guys, but I just went down there last month. I was there a week before the hurricanes came thru. Everybody needs to run the Dragon at least once, what a hoot!

Hey i just had a nother thought, who has 2 way radios?

 

we will probably leave after normal working hours on friday to head up there.. you could meet us there sat in the morning i guess.. just want to have a whole day up there to play thats why the plan is leave friday
