not gonna lie but a asian driver will never turn into a good driver...just throwing it out there.

Next time, call the police. Everything will be clear and provable. Get a estimate on the damage, tell the garage to go nuts. Go thru insurance and make them suffer.

I know u may think thats really mean but honestly who cares?, if that was you rear ending sumone, do u think that the person u hit will be nice to u? ... not in Toronto atleast.

xCASHx: thats a horrible first line to say, considering the OP is also asian and you are actually offending him and MANY others on the board.

smoke: sorry to hear man! If you have an Aftermarket exhaust I hope you can get that fixed. If you have stock exhaust! Get an aftermarket and bill those ****ers!

^thats pretty stereotypical dude
im asian, g2/g on first try, 4+ years (im 20) no accidents, avoided many of which were not my fault (ppl being dumb and not looking @ blind spots..ppl slamming on brakes b4 they almost missed their turn etc.)
and w/ only 1 speeding ticket which is pending court

eitherway smoke. i'd screw them as hard as i can, considering they were trying to dupe you.

just bcuz the driver was 17 does not excuse him of unsafe driving..what if it was a person he hit, not a car...or what if he t-boned some one.

people like that should not be on the road. rear ending sum one @ like 10 or 20km is a different story

but as ur saying 50km+ thats a ridiculous speed, meaning he wasnt even paying attention, if he cant pay attention when he drives, he shouldnt be driving. and if he was paying attention he probably just didnt know where the brake pedal was

yes u were 17 once and so was i not too long ago..but we didnt drive like idoits, which is why we're still driving

wow 50+ and you dont have serious damage... I would check the rear crumple zone to make sure it hasn't moved... again save that rear bumper for me if your replacing it if you can.

50+ is no excuse, throw the book at him.

you seem overly kind to someone who just pwned your rear.. especially since you mentioned the boy's family is being so **** about the whole situation

why not just go thru insurance for peace of mind?

i know when i slide my car into a ditch avoiding a dear it looked like just some minor body work, but when i had mitsu look at in scarbz there was close to 5 grand in parts and labour cause of the need to tuck and hide components in whatever space they can find, like my AC Compressor... make sure you you get it checked out real good before agreeing to anything with the people or their insurance, assuming the kid even had insurance...

phuknrht: it's Ontario. It doesn't matter if he doesn't have insurance. Our own companies cover our own *** regardless of the situation. If he has no insurance he has more **** awaiting him.

Right off the bat I am not going to disagree, that sounds bad, and make light of it. On the flip side however I am sure everyone has said something that A) they wish they could take back, B) or just sounded flat out wrong.

I was reminded of this today when my girlfriend told me she had an upset stomach out loud, and I said "ya, i am worried, you dont look so good, you look kinda bloated. Does it hurt? maybe I can get you some water and some medicine?" Well as soon as the bloated part came out, that = I THINK YOUR FAT in her head and I got the cold shoulder all the way thru the movie tonight. Even as I write this post, she is still making me feel like I killed a baby seal.

Moral of the story is... people say things all the time that will offend people, but if there is a heart felt apology behind it, that goes along way to getting on track. And removing the foot out of the mouth syndrome.

As you can see the Moderators has swiftly handed out a punishment to someone who broke the rules... let this be a learning example for everyone to take note of... but lets not dwell on it too much.

btw how is the ralliart bumper different from the GTS? can i claim my brakes, rotors on the accident?
Seriously, I know it's good to be nice and stuff, but at the same time, it might bite you in the ****. If somehow, for a freak reason, they are able to turn this around on you, your insurance would shoot through the roof. Sometimes it's good to be selfish about this stuff. But as long as you have a police report and it says you're 0% at fault, then it would count as a hit and run. HOWEVER, there may be rules with regards to making your claim. You may have to report the claim within 24 hrs of the hit and run to guarantee that you're not a fault, or have reported the accident within 24 hours to the centre (in which case you did).

But yeah, the parents are def taking advantage of the fact that you were being lenient. Just be careful.

your report has been filed. Contact your insurance company tell them the info and the fact that the other party refused to surrender insurance info and let them deal with the bastards. If they also went and filed, they had to show proof of insurance anyway so, your taken care of, let the insurance company deal with the particulars, that's what you pay them for.

i agree with people that posted before me. so what if he loses his licence? would you rather him get off easy, keep the licence and then a week later create another accident possibly killing other people or himself? you'd be doing all of us a favor by removing a driver like him from the road. and age doesnt mean anything in this case. rules of the road apply to everyone equally. if you get in a car and start driving it on public roads then accept all the responsibilities that come with it. on the road we're all the same.
