collision at Pmall. help!

So i was going to pmall and i got rear ended by a 17 year old.

his parents wouldn't give me any info but their phone and name.. and i told them that it is the law that they give me insurance, license, and address. i went to the collision center but decided to not make a case... i made one the next day. (if i did it right away, the poor kid would get 7 demerit points for fail to stop at a scene and hit and run and would lose his license till hes 25)
***********************************************
so anyways I just got an alignment on friday.. and i think thats gone. my license plate is gone. what else would be broken from a 50 km/h hit from the rear?

the bumper latch thing (right above license is broken.) according to people if that thing breaks it means i need a whole new bumper. is this true? i dont want to make it rediculously expensive for them since it wasnt really their fault of the heavy traffic and hes new to driving.. but i want my car to be in top notch condition which will be safe on the track and the road.

make em pay for it all. a bad driver now rewarded for their bad driving will continue to be bad.

you're going to need the inner stuff in the bumper and potentially other stuff. take it to a body shop and get an estimate.

actually, i think they will.
I've only seen stories that the insurance companies cover OEM parts.

A few guys from the states had the same situation and had replaced the Reg lancer bumper with the Ralliart bumper!

If that was to happen to me, i'd do the oem ralliart bumper

you should have called the cops if they did not want to give any info. my guess is the kid doesn't have a license yet. they were at fault slam dunk case.

i went thru this before,

GO THRU YOUR INSURANCE, the rules are funny when a minor is involved.

Give it to the parants straight... pay up, or we go thru insurance. If your not at fault, then you have nthing to worry about.

as long as your get all the money then I would say dont worry about insurance.
if they say its to much, go through insurance.
I'll take your busted rear bumper off your hands though.

good story about rear endings.... buddy of mine, rear ended 4 people in less then a year. Got off on all of them without going through insurance except for one since he crashed into the back of a ups truck. We though he learned his lesson.. guess not, he rear ended another person a fews ago totaling his car and the ladies. They weren't going though insurance until a cop drove by. said the damage was easily over a grand and a report was written. My buddie got a careless driving or wreckless driving ticket.. the one which is 7 points and a criminal offense. hes now probably got to do court and spend thousands in fees trying to get off.. I feel no simpathy for people who rear end others.

how is it different if its a minor?

basically they tried to dupe me.. they said they;d settle in cash on tuesday.. but they went to file it on the same day.. they knew that if i filed it, they would have been screwed for life... i could have but...i was 17 before and if a small mistake happened it would suck to be out of a car till 25. but the parents and the sister (who did all the transaltions) were mother ****ERS

btw how is the ralliart bumper different from the GTS? can i claim my brakes, rotors on the accident?

you can claim everything that is damaged from the accident.

You'll need a shop to confirm said parts need replacing.

without the police report, you cannot prove that it was the kid that crashed your rear bumper. it is their word against yours. they can even deny the rear-end. I would go straight to your insurance since either way they can always refuse and not pay it. they can claim you backed into them?

i got a police report.. the police checked out my bumper and said its obvious that i got hit.. and those people claimed no damage to them... (it was a corolla) so its a smaller car and it hit my lower portion of the bumper..
