^ I think when people where buying their cars they had Mazda, Toyota, Honda, Subaru in mind and not the higher end brands. Its like comparing apples to oranges in terms of price, quality, and preformance.
For a $20K family sedan car its pretty good.
Im sure alot of us are still young so we get older im sure we will move up the ladder but for now its the cheapest and best for its class.

Alot of people are comparing a Lancer Brand New to alot of sports cars that are a few yrs old and are now around the same price. So i think for the price of a brand new lancer you really cant get much better in the same class.

Well, the Lancer is my first car ever so I do have that first car love for it but at the same time I really want a BMW haha I always have. My mom says I'm too spoiled and need to stop living beyond my means :P bah...

I have a white 09 lancer SE MT and i paid $26000 (taxes included). and also got free 20% tints, hood deflector, hood tape and side licence plate mount 
got it from dixie. 30k for this car is indeed too much. are you sure you're not mistaken?
as for the main question - yes i would get another lancer. maybe a GTS or a ralliart. but still a lancer. why? cause lancer is the best in its class, IMO. yes, audi, bmw and lexus are all better cars but they're in a totally different price range. realistically i would get another lancer if something happened to this one.
