How Many Of You...
Stop complaining about the Lancers...think of the depreciation of the EVO's. I paid Canadian $48 G's, and as I drove off the lot one month ago, the Canadian Rebook value placed my 2008 EVO MR at $32 G's...that's a $16,000 loss just driving it a few inches. I will have to keep this car for a few years to counteract the depreciation.

if i were to get another car in the future, i'd have to see what mitsubishi really has at the time. But if I were to go back in time, I would have purchased a USED lancer lol damn thing depreciates fast. But all in all, I am very happy with my lancer sportback, its unique and i love the styling.
when i compare the price i paid for this car and what else i coulda got its really depressing
could have
imported a evo 8 or 9
used 350z
skyline r32
golf gti
altima coupe
sentra specv
240 s13
and the list goes on and on
forsure dont get the performance with the price , tho the looks and handling are there

however i would never even consider a new gen spec , ugly ugly ugly
Depreciation isn't a concern for me. The average person knows that buying a car is pretty much the worst investment ever. As soon as you drive it off that lot it's not worth what you paid for it.
The only thing that bugs me that if I wanted to sell it, I wouldn't get what I still owe on it so I'd be paying payments for nothing so I might aswell just keep the damn thing.

The majority of EVO owners paid the full price or close to it...in Ontario that would have been $57,000 with taxes, etc, for the MR version. So the drive off the lot for them would have been $25,000 depreciation. I negotiated until one dealer told me that the dealer that I finally purchased from was "losing money on the sale, and we won't do that". I knew then that I got a good deal, but still the loss of $16,000 was a big hit.
I know I should've known this from day 1, but I just found out today that the 60/80 financing of Mitsu is like if you pay the balance (after 5 yrs), you pretty much own (own) the car. But if opt not to, then you can return it (pretty much leased) and all payments made for the 60 months will just go flying out the window...
if i were in the market for a new car, whatever the reason, i probably wouldnt be buying another Lancer. not because of problems or anything, seeing as the only issue ive really had its rock chips in the hood, otherwise its been problem free and i love my car. I just dont see myself wanting the same car twice lol, there's too many cars, trucks, SUVs out there I want for me to let myself stick with one, though by the time im ready to buy another my lancer will be so modded (hopefully lol) that trading it wont be worth while, so she'll be my weekend toy, or good to seel some high schoool kid who's mommy and daddy have too much money
