lancer newbie

Whats up TLC,
I'll be hopefully getting my new 2009 Lancer GT sometime this week, bought it from Markham but I live in Mississauga...makes no sense lol.
So just wanted to ask you guys what did you do first when you got your lancer?
Just trying to get some ideas on what to spend my hard earned dollars on haha. I was thinking of a quiet exhaust first but seeing winter is pretty much here already it'd be quite useless, no?

I added the Shark Fin......Love it... Most want to go the performance route. CAI, or SRI. Others like you said exhaust...If your going to drive it in the winter stick with stock and cover your basement/Storage locker/Room with parts over the winter........Oh and If you are going to drive her in the winter The first upgrade I would make would be the Tire's..

But saying as your getting the GT you have the Yoko's so never mind.

Alright so then I assume the yoko's will do fine in the winter?

I was also thinking of the Injen CAI's, my buddy has one in his acura and it sounds great.
Know anywhere where I can get a good deal on them?

Get a dedicated set of winter tires, all seasons and winters are worlds apart. You'll notice a difference. But that again is up to personal preference

Welcome.

With winter coming, save your money for the spring so you can really enjoy your new car. If you must spend money look into interior mods like aftermarket headunits etc.

I would wait to get tints in spring / summer as it dries faster and you have less chance for something going wrong or get them asap. Tints can be done in winter but they just take longer.

thanks everyone for your responses, ive decided to get a cai soon, start off with that.
then probably a shark fin, and HID's during the winter.

but will the shark fin be in conflict with the sirius radio?

Yup!
The Satellite receiver base antenna is too big for the visual Garage SF, at least when I got mine it was. I do, however remember somebody saying that they updated the design because of the satellite radio.

In term's of functionality works fine with FM bands and some AM bands
