oh man! glad you are okay. I was in the same position as you last year. and its a horrible feeling. I dont think the RA is out for the count though. I think it will come back. Last year I was in an accident new years eve and my mazda3 was totalled because the transmission got hit and was ruined. I reiterate I'm glad you and your gf are safe. Insurance should be an easy process and good luck with everything. Please update us, and lets hope you get an EVO!

Glad to hear that you two are ok. I'm guessing that giant piece on the bottom is the driver side knee airbag. I thought it was just a small piece...

Wow, glad to hear everyone was okay.

Sucks about the car, I hope you had gap insurance. Did the wing survive?

You may be able to buy the car back from the insurance company, my aunt did that with a minivan she had back in the day. Even if you don't fix the car I am sure you could part it out, Recaro seats and navigation! I'm sure there is more, engine and tranny are probably still good. I hear a good TC-SST transmission goes for a lot of money, maybe contact AMS and see if they could use an extra for R&D. Also there is a company looking for stock suspension components. I'm just saying, there could be a few extra dollars in it to part it out.

Anyway, I hope they throw the book at that drunk driver, I have a personal disdain for such idiocy, as my sister-in-law was killed by a drunk driver.

Yes, take off all mods, and put it back to stock, the insurance company will NOT reimburse you for those parts! Save 'em for your next RA 2010 baby...upgrade!

Hey man glad to hear your ok.. I cant stand drunk drivers. No excuse.
If I were you I'd go to the guys court dates and see he gets convicted. You could of been killed or someone you know or love.

I would be surprised if they total it though, however it they do find out what the buy back on it is.
If you not interested in it let me know I'd consider purchasing it from em.

Good luck.

^ Insurance can choose to fix it, or write it off.

If they write it off they will give you a settlement value - if you have that gap coverage you get what you paid for for the first few years. And also the option of buying it back if you want.

just make sure you get infront of the process and actively talk to the insurance company and the bodyshop, its the shop that has a good say over how much work is required to fix it. and they can always pad the estimate up or down which will influence the insurance company.

Damn that sucks. Glad that u and your GF are fine. Ask your insurance about mods, cause they are all diff, and when I totalled my GTS back in July all I had to was bring in all my reciepts for my mods and they wrote me a cheque for all my mods minus the shipping costs and the HID bulbs(won't reimburse for wearable items like bulbs and tires). Good luck with insurance, hope it all works out for you.

Glad you and your GF are not injured, hopefully they write it off so you don't have any issues with the replaced parts in the future. And my ins had me give them receipts for the afternarket parts, and they gave me some $$$ for them even though they weren't covered by ins.
