engine died 3rd time

So i was backing out of my driveway today and when i just got out (my car is diagonal on the street) my car died. It wasn't a stall with the clutch. I tried to turn the engine on again but nothing happened.. took about 10 tries to start the car again.

Earlier today i smelled a burning smell in the cabin. Also, oil always spills ontop of the engine. This is normal according to markham mitsu. eventhough they said that i never complained about this problem (the never bothered to put it in the system)

This is the 3rd time it happened to me on this car.. i went to mitsu about this and they said they didn't find a problem last time... well i scheduled an 8:15 am appointment tomorrow lets see what happens. I change my oil EVERY 5000 km with royal purple oil and KNN filters.

Let's see what they say this time... last time they said the car died because im not supposed to leave the car on neutral....im supposed to hold down the clutch when im at a light... or warming up my car... I'm writing to the president if nothing gets done tomorrow or if they slap me with a bill because its not under warranty

Why isn't it under warranty? You should be able to leave it in neutral or with your clutch pedal depressed, whichever you choose. Something sounds weird, especially with the oil coming out. Any service department who said that is just plain retarded.

why not, not take it to markham?.. I live in barrie but drive to maple since a. we get the tlc discount and b. when I talk to darren or any of the other service guys, I feel like there not jerking me around or playing me like I'm an idiot. They've always taken care of my concerns and I've never got any retarded excuses.

Barrie mitsu is another story which I wont get into but lets leave it at I'd rather spend the money and time to make the 40min trip south.

what I would do is make a list of everything that is bothering you. Make sure when you drop your car off tomorrow they list everything from your list on that invoice you sign before you hand over your keys. also make sure its clear that service being preformed is warrentied.

If there is a problem you need to diagnose with a mechanic in car request a drive along with one of em to show them the problem.

Be prepared to leave your car for a few days.. Nothing I hate worse then watching the guys rush around trying to work while you wait.. sounds like you have some big issues which will take time to diagnose and then trouble shoot.
so to me its not a drop off wait half hour gig..

Not sure what you mean by oil spills on the engine?.. but oil on the outside of your engine, unless its undercoating/rust proof shouldn't be there.

I leave my car in neutral all the time.. its probably better then keeping the clutch in.. I would assume you'd wear out the pressure plate faster by doing this constantly..

all in all just sounds like you need to go else where.

keep us posted on how you make out..

btw, thought u had your mind set on selling the thing anyway?

any engine oil anywhere besides being in the engine is not good. And to get a retarded answer like that is not good either. I would take to scarbourgh mitsu.

Flood the engine? Next time try starting the car with your foot all the way down on the gas. This has happened to me and it worked, might be the same problem.

I suggest you take it to a different dealership, there are a few I would say not to go thru, but thats personal opinion. Second I have no experience from Markham so I dont know anything about them personally. Any one of the Mitsubishi's in the gold alliance will talk to you. And you can go over everything in advance. Bring your invoices, all past invoices and show it to the Gold Alliance. Good chance that they will give you a free inspection or at the very least advise you on what to do next. I highly recommend inspected your spark plugs. If there is anything comprimised with the engine, it will start showing up there and or in higher emissions. I am attempting to spend 200 dollars on a few baseline emission tests for the lancer. So that it may help people in the future to figure out if there is something out of wack.

As for your case, I remember seeing the oil on your engine I think at a meet, and yes thats not good, some seal is comprimised or something. Its not good. and if your having start issues you gotta take it in.

I dont think its an issue with your oil. P.S. Wow you change your oil every 5000, you would roll over twice when I tell you I change the oil in my other cars (after warranty) at 25,000 km with the Mobil 1 EP. So I dont think its an oil issue. our car is rated to go a long time between oil changes.

I recommend Scarborough or Maple since its close to you, if you want me to come with you give me a shout. and I will drop in I love a good mystery

you get a discount so long as you have the Decal. More clear information will be posted on a fixed page that gets updated frequently , showing you what your membership in TLC will get you for your Lancer, Ralliart, Evo X, past and present.

BUT, Unfortunately, its the dealers discretion to give you a discount on oil, they simply do not make any money doing oil changes.
