Pilot Alpin PA3
Good tires, solid performer. Its just the Micheline are expensive. But still top quality.
For the money I would get the General Arctics,

How good are Michelin Pilot Alpin's anyways? I ended up with a set of them when I bought my car. But now looking at the tread pattern... they certainly don't look like a winter tire. Look more like a high performance all season!
I know you can't judge a tire by it's tread. But usually winter tires have a lot of blocks with jagged edges... and they have soft compounds. These Michelin's have a lot of smooth blocks and the rubber seems pretty damn tough.

Well, I bought a set and had them installed on the weekend. First impression (dry conditions), they don't feel like winter tires. Road noise is about the same as my Advans. Handling is crisp not as sharp as the Advans but very good for winter tires. Cruising at Hwy speeds the car feels almost the same.
Hmm... my mistake... I have a set of PA3's as well. So looks like you aren't the only one that will be trying these tires out for the first time.
Good to know the dry weather performance is pretty good... I'll probably bolt these winter tires on in just over a week.
