getting to the battery....

so yesturday a friend of mine called me cause he got stuck and needed a boost. i've owned my ralliart for a while now but i've never until now had to get to my battery. how the hell do i get to my battery? it's covered and being blocked?

Don't you guys need to take off the "snorkel" for the air intake to access the battery?

? why do you need to take anything off? from that pic, you have access to the battery to boost it

yeah....mine has the cover like the one shown on this picture....u can't get to it...

and i can't take off the "snorkel"....

and in the picture posted by crester.....

it looks like there are 2 screws at the bottom...but those dont come out for some reason...i put a screw driver into it and it just spins...and spins...and spins...but nothing happens...

you need to spin the screwdriver without applying pressure. when the screw goes up just pull it out.

Are you talking about the plastic screws holding the snorkel? Those are screw type clips, you Cant apply pressure when taking it off, maybe try ply it out gently, you first need to remove the snorkel then can remove the cover

um..all u need for a boost is the red terminal under that red plastic..lift straight up..hook ur neg to strub bar or something bolted to frame and ur good...

I've had to boost another car once or twice. Yes, you need to remove the snorkel, because you need to remove that battery cover. Like folks have said, unscrew the snorkel using no pressure, and you will be fine. I found if the screws just turn, put a little sideways pressure with your other hand on the base of the plastic screw holder. this should close the threads a little bit, allowing them to bite and lift the screw.
