ACD pump failure
Basically, we are waiting on more orders to justify being a sponsor and getting the info out there through the forum. Things are picking up, we're just not there yet. If you want to see the kits in more detail, there are new postings on eBay this time with better pics. I really don't wanna wipe out this thread so just look up ACD pump rebuild kit for Ralliart or EVO X. Cheers!
RS autosports on Rountree Dairy Rd will rebuild your pump including motor for about $600.
Last time I was there they had an 8 and a Ralliart up on the hoist doing rebuilds.
I think the $600 was including re-winding a rusted motor on one of the cars.

I'm not from the GTA, I'm from Montreal, Quebec so needless to say our roads and driving conditions beat just about any place in terms of potholes and freezing temperatures (-40•c).
Having said that, I purchased a brand new 2011 Ralliart. I'm down to 40k km so far and sometime around spring I started to notice this annoying noise & vibration wich sounded like a muffler tip knocking and the noise became on and off during bumps I actually thought it was a busted shock. The 1st dealer where I had my oil change, conveniently it seems did not find the noise although I saw the tec open the trunk and look at a compartment in it ( I didn't know the oil tank was there) so being a couple of hrs before closing, they rescheduled another appointment wich by the way is almost 45 mins drive given the fact the car was purchased there.
I went to the another dealer wich is 5mins away and in a matter of 2 mins the tec knew what it was : Acd pump. So I booked an appointment since to the techs advice a bleed was the solution, meanwhile I asked the service guy if that was under warranty and played stupid with me for a while until I asked him to contact Mitsubishi and re-inform himself 'bout the bumper to bumper coverage!
The tec bled the system 3 times without any luck the noise persists and he calls Mitsubishi and decide to change the pump since it might be the problem, although no light or service flashes came on. notice that the service guy still playing dumb and tells me they'll order the part wich they're back order and will call me back when they're in to book an appointment. So as of yesterday I play the waiting game!
Heat pad to fix awc issue
guys got a question. everyone seems to agree that corrosion is big issue. the fix is oil based rust inhibitor or paint and clear coat. now for the question how much of a problem do our cold Canadian winters have on the oil. should I get a 12v 25watt heat pad and wire that up to the reservoir?? any ideas? don't want my new pump(dealer's buying it) to blow anytime soon.
I've been working with a company in Leeds England to relocate our USDM pumps to the boot space and they are ready and look awesome making it look "stock" in the trunk...we will never have to worry about them again! I've also negotiated to have the pumps relocated from a local mechanic here in Ottawa and to have our local dealership bleed the lines afterwards all for an awesome price. We are just getting set up as a group buy, and will be doing this in the next few weeks. If you're willing to make the short trip you can be part of our Mitsubishi relocation group. You can send me a PM if interested.
The pics are posted on, "for those of you with ACD pump failure merged".

How are the noise levels of the pump being relocated inside the trunk? Evo X engineering point of view.
IE. no fold down seats and possibly the ability to sound deadening some areas.

Pump motor only turns on briefly to build the pressure...and you won't hear it all the way back in the trunk and it's fairly quiet anyways if you've ever tried to hear it. Here's another example...I also have the pulsing high pitched rust module in my Evo trunk and only if I lean my head towards the back and there's no environmental noise anywhere, can I barely even hear that. So it's a guarantee that you won't hear the pump if you can barely hear that Canadian Tire noisy module...lol.
I've just answered your PM too about the relocation details.
