You need deep pockets for Performance Rally, but not so for Nav Rally. I compete in the latter in the ORRC series and a daily driver is sufficient there.

The problem here is that it looks like Mitsubishi is only concerned with sponsoring the top-tier rally events like the CRC but they don't seem to be involved as much at the grassroots level or for non-rally events like autocross etc.
