I think your Uncle may have meant something else when he said he used spacers to make the rims fit. It's not so common for people to use devices to change the bolt pattern of the rims. People usually use spacers to help push the rims outwards to help clear suspension components, etc.

I will say you are correct. They are to inform those of the pressure levels in their tires. And in the end its good for the environment. My beef would be that its a government standard technology on all cars made today. But if they had sensors that would tell you actual PSI pressure vs. a trip alarm... I would fall in love with it. I hope someone invents this and puts it standard in their vehicles. For mitsubishi it would be a great GREEN PROGRAM I know EVO guys would like that
I think the fact that we can only store one set of sensors at a time is absolutely nuts! Especially considering that this is Canada... and pretty much everybody is going to have two sets of wheels.

The dealerships must love it tho... they get to charge 1-2 hours of labour each year every time some changes their tires.

Why isn't there an affordable machine that can do this???

As far as the darn TPMS are concerned, I'm holding out hope my mechanic may have a tool to do this. I don't have much hopes but who knows..

the bolt pattern is the distance between these two points:

The hub bore is something else and can vary depending on car. Mitsubishi example 67.1

you can have some sort of wheel spacer style thing that will convert your pattern.. but i wouldn't bother .. 5x114.3 has the best rims out there!
I should have been more clearer with what I wrote. The bolt pattern is the diameter of the bolt/hole centers. Per attached.

What about the 2011 models?
I have asked guys at Maple about it for the 2010, which I drive. It never hurts to ask in your case with a 2011. May be Mitsubishi has started thinking about more practical things for their customers. -

You all know that there are direct differences between Low Tire Pressure and TPMS... They are not the same thing...

based on that attachment........it makes me think boring the rim is all the more possible......, either that or maybe its possible to turn the rim into a 112 and a 114.3 by drilling an extra set of holes....hmm.

just find a hub and bearing in 5x114.3 that will fit your knuckle...
edit: make sure the drive shaft fits the new hub

There not exactly cheap. Im just getting them for cheap..(pretty much free). I think my uncle paid close to 2600 for them.

But anyways......until I actually get the rims, Ill have to see for myself what the "deal" is. I think I'll ask my mechanic if he knows of any ways to do it, like ill borrow one of the rims and get my mechanic to check it and all to see what we can do.
