Diminishing Returns?

I currently own a Turbo Trixx tuned Evo 8. It makes 350WHP and 350 Torque on a flash. Car is amazing, pulls great, and I love it.

Would adding a AEM EMS actually make my car run even better, or would you think of it as a waste? Would Benefits would I get by doing this upgrade? It seems that I would need to spend another $2,000 for like 20WHP extra. Any other Benefits?

I don't think you'll benefit. The stock ECU is good for up to around 400 AWHP it seems plus you get the benefits of stock ECU driveability without having to tune for it. I'm a fan of the stock ECU until you get a turbo, etc, etc.

i would think that with the AEM, you get rid of the MAF sensor which will free up more power and torque.

Has this really been proven for stock setups?

Isn't part of the truth that many folks who run AEM's are also generally willing to run a little leaner and with a little more timing?

When does the stock MAF start miscounting? Who's physically measured the MAF restriction at stock turbo boost levels?

Willing to stand corrected but let's hear some facts.

I agree with cody, ( evotexas ) i think until you get a bigger turbo, the stock ecu would be the way to go.

I am going to chime in here as there is a benifit to piggy backs beyond what has been mentioed thus far in this thread. Multiple maps. One for pump and one for race fuel, others for temperature extrems. I use 91 CA pump most of the time and 100 unleaded 76 for those "special" occasions. Another consideration for me is that temp.s here in N. CA range from just below freezing to over 115. Then there is also the issue over being able to adjust back to stock for smog testing.
