TBE issue

i am getting mixed opinions from everyone on the topic of running a TBE without a tune. some say do it u should have no problems and others say wait until you get it tuned. i dont know what to do. should i put the TB on and get the tune in a couple months. or should i just put the cat-back on and wait until i get the tune to put the DP and TP on.i know you guys would be able to answer this with no problem, sorry for the stupid question.

i have been running with a tbe without a tune for months now and the car actually feels a little faster, i have been waiting for the accessport to comeout so i am untuned with a tbe and the car still runs great, in fact i pulled on my friends stock ix mr today so i am happy with a stock viii with just an exhaust. you will be fine, but if you are this worried about it then wait until you get a tune...

I put on a TBE, MBC and Drop in filter a month or two before I was tuned and the car ran fine. It is super rich from the factory at wot so you will be safe in my opinion

You need a tune because your car will be running lean. Tune it FTW!

i'd probrably put on an MBC as well if you put the TBE on pre-tune. in my experience, the TBE caused my boost to spike much higher than stock(1.4-1.5 bar). a cat-back, you're definitely good.

I put the tbe and ran for a few weeks. Then the mbc, ran for a few weeks. Then I got it tuned. It was completly fine. So put the FULL TBE on as soon as you want. It would help to get tune eventually. But slap the tbe on then get the tune when you can.

You will be fine with a full exhaust, your boost will go up slightly but you won't have any issues.

I'm confused when you say tbe? Did you get an invidia downpipe as well or just install an invidia catback?

Invidia sounds really good on the evo and the welds are nice

A TBE is from the turbo back. That includes the downpipe, tp/hfc, and a cat back

Go ahead and install the TBE. I have been running one for a couple months now with zero negative effects. My boost did peak about 20-21 psi at WOT but my EGT guage doesn't read any different than stock set-up. FYI, I'm also running with LICP, fuel pump, K&N cone w/MAS and couple small supporting mods. I have no issues and I'm getting tuned in December.

I know what a tbe exhaust is but the op who started this thread said he put on his TBE exhaust but is still waiting on the test pipe, so that means he couldn't have installed a tbe exhaust.

OP did you just install a dp + catback?
