Could this be used in conjunction with the DLI unit for even more spark power? Also, if your pro-system works with the stock ecu as well, what was the purpose of this system and what makes it "better" for anything under 600hp over your CDI unit?

Thanks for the questions. We have been toying around with the idea to mate the DLI with the non-cdi system. However this will only be cost effective for customers that already have the DLI. As the cost of the non-cdi system along with a new DLI and your into the price range of the cdi based systems. In some recent independant testing the Non-cdi system outperformed the DLI hands down and made more power by simply removing the DLI and switching to the non-cdi system.
In our initial testing the non-cdi system made a reliable 8-10whp over stock coils in back to back dyno testing. This was on a very lightly modded Evo 8 with stock turbo, tbe, stock 02 housing and only 21psi(increases will be greater with more mods). Since the release of this system several months ago, it has done nothing but impress us and the customers that have purchased it. The goal of the non-cdi system was to design an affordable ignition alternative to stock coils and to eliminate having to use the DLI or other voltage amplifiers that have a HIGH failure rate that often result in melted/fried coils. With several customers in the 550whp range with NO misfires i'd say we hit the mark

Well, that was pretty much what I was getting at....people that already have a DLI. It wouldn't make any sense otherwise and you might as well go CDI before doing that. So, you do have people using the CDI system on the stock ECU with no problems, correct? No issues with the dwell settings and whatnot?

Yes sir you are correct. Our CDI based systems are 100% compatible with the stock ecu and have scores of happy stock ecu users. We even have proof that OUR system is the ONLY truly stock ecu compatible system. No hesitatons/misfires/jerking at cruise and low speeds...NONE... We have done LOTS and LOTS of testing on the stock ecu. Our Unique way of wiring these systems and following the specs of M & W's wiring instructions has brought unrivaled Quality and Performance to the EVO market.

^Thanks for your order. This unit works very well with the Red. I recently had a customer call me up with some great news...18whp gain with his Red.

Any feedback of the non-cdi on EVOs running E85? Obviously, spark blow out can be an issue on the stock coils...

Update for me..I received and installed the ignition...an ape could do this with one hand tied behind his back and blindfolded by the way.

My double pumper did not arrive in time, so we tuned on single walbro and maxed out the injectors, but at only 25psi on E85 we hit 501/403 with the ignition performing flawlessly. My tuner had yet to play with this ignition and he loved it! We should be hitting 550/490 within the next few weeks so I will update then, but so far this ignition upgrade has been everything I wanted/expected and more.

Thanks SparkTech!!!
