Haltech Platinum Ecu's.. Coming Soon!!
Well guys the Haltech Platinum series Ecu is about to be released.. I dont have all the details on it yet but it looks very promising right away from a software standpoint.. It supports USB so no more cable converter headaches.. Its going to be PnP with the same harness as available from the older e8 unit like we run in my 8 second RS.. Below is the pricing just to give you an idea because i am sure people will ask.. This is not a FOR SALE thread.. I am just trying to spread the word out there to the community and let you guys know there are great tuning options besides AEM.. The Startup, Injector Control and Driveability is Superior IMO.. The new software is going to be much more user friendly..

I would have to find out for you.. I know the 2000 is based off the E11v2 which is the all out race ecu for the 8's and the only ecu for IX.. I am going to link some people in here with more knowledge on the Haltech to help answer some questions.. from what i know 99% of the 8's will use the 1000 just like the e8 which is in my street RS..

So, me being a IX owner means that the only one I can buy out of these two is the 2000, right?

Hey guys,
Id like to answer as much as i can so bare with me.
First up, the new Platinum Sport 1000 and 2000 are the current E8 and E11v2 replacements. For all you EVO1-8 you can use E8/Sport1000 with no problems, the EVO 9 requires the E11v2/Sport2000 due to the extra inputs and outputs needed to cover all the stock components. Anybody can use the 2000 on any of the cars, they are identically in every way except of course the inputs and outputs available.
Anybody that buys an E8/E11 or already has one will easily be able to update to the new Sport boxes by just switching boxes. Owners of EVO9 could use a Sport1000 but you will have to prioritize what options you'd want to handle, and in those cases i would suggest something like a piggyback style installation, its been done and works good, but the ideal thing is to get the Sport2000 box and be able to run everything with no problems.
As they sit currently, they dont have OBD2 capability. I think the later to be released PRO box (Skyline GT-R R35) will however, but its slated for release later in the year. They DO have CAN capability built in (so do the E8/E11), but this CAN data is meant to be fed to the Racepak and AIM Dash options Haltech sells.
We have Plug n Play options for ALL the EVOs upto 9.
Main differences between the 1000 and 2000 (and in term, E8/E11) are:
E11/2000 - vs - E8/1000
6 Injector - vs - 4 Injector
6 Ignition - vs - 4 Ignition
6 Aux. Outputs - vs - 6 Aux. Outputs
4 Dig. Inputs - vs - 2 Dig. Inputs
7 Analog Inputs - vs - 4 Analog Inputs
Also, on top of these features we have:
- Both units have built in 22psi/2.5bar MAP sensors
- Both units have built in/dedicated Stepper Motor control (idle valves)
- Both units can have any unused injector or ignition output reconfigured for something else
- Both units can be calibrated to use ANY sensor, temp, MAP, Oil/Fuel pressure, O2/Wideband, EGT, etc.
- Both units have dual map capability for Fuel/Ignition/Boost
- Both units have on-board datalogging memory that can be activated by either a switch, or automatically based on a parameter setpoint.
Additional control features:
- Antilag/Launch Control/2step/Flat Shift switch
- Variable Cam Timing Control (MIVEC/i-Vtec/VVT-i, etc)
- Thermofan control (duty and on/off)
- Intercooler/methanol Spray control
- NOS Control
- Closed Loop Boost Control (even by gear using road speed input)
- Target AFR Map
- Boost Comp Map (TPS load with MAP correction)
This pretty much sums up the most important features, if anybody has a specific question regarding any option, feature, or application, please post it and we'll try to answer it.
