COBB Tuning and Tephra Team Up on EVO X
COBB Tuning is very excited to announce that David Shirley (aka Tephra) is the newest addition to our Mitsubishi Expert Group team. David brings with him a huge amount of Mitsubishi ECU knowledge and discovery experience gained through years of independently developing Mitsubishi EVO tuning solutions. We expect that his expertise will have a significant impact on our Mitsubishi AccessPORT and AccessTUNER engine management features and functionality.
Soon, EVO X AccessPORT users will be enjoying exciting new features including alternate map support, CEL flash on engine knock and various other patches and definitions which make tuning easier.
COBB Tuning is also contracting Tephra to perform additional ROM discovery and patching work to further improve the capability of the EVO X AccessPORT. COBB Tuning wishes to acknowledge the contributions that Tephra has made to the Mitsubishi open source tuning community and does not wish to stifle those contributions. As such, Tephra will continue to support the open source community, and furthermore, all new ROM discovery and patches developed through this new arrangement will be made available to the open source community through Tephra six months after COBB Tuning's official release.
This is a big change in the Mitsubishi tuning world and we hope others share our excitement. Moving forward, we will all be working together to improve the EVO X platform as a whole.

Im extremely happy for Tephra. Even though he performed his work for the fun of it (as well as helping out the Evo community) he will now be getting compensated for his time and efforts rather than just donations. CONGRATS!

This is great news indeed, I am honestly happy Cobb is getting Tephra on board. I am a little worried that now they won't want Tephra to release stuff on ECUflash now, but if that means I buy an accessport then so be it.
Edit: read the whole post, looks like 6 month delay for Opensource.
Looks like I am going Accessport, lol, when they get it caught up to Ecuflash with map switching etc.

So i may be wrong here but here goes.... since Tephra has done so much basically for donations for the community, Cobb is essentially buying his knowledge. Soooo that makes the stuff that is released 6 months after Cobb gets them..... gonna cost? Since they will technically own the rights to what is being released. Or what is released to the Openecu community wont be exactly the same as Cobb has for marketing purposes. I am glad Tephra is actually gettin paid for his hard work.
