Last fall we had the opportunity to modify an Evo X for a build series on our YouTube channel. Check it our here if you're interested! The series was great and all but looking under the hood I just couldn't get over how out of place the OEM power steering reservoir looked, with how close in proximity it was to our Evo X Oil Catch / Coolant Expansion Tank something just seemed to be missing. With that being such a popular product, it just seemed like a natural fit to create our own to match the aesthetic - while providing increased performance benefits as well.

Description:

With a focus on style and function, we set out to design a billet power steering reservoir that matched the style of our popular coolant combo tank for the Evo X. One of the main targets was to increase the capacity, as we have seen that help on both the streetcars and race cars in terms of the life of the fluid and keeping temps down. We have an increase of 57% over the factory unit with no modifications needed. From there we set out to add an internal screen filter, after testing many options we found that the stainless mesh filter held up to the needs of the system, and is easy to remove and clean if need be. Keeping the particulate out of the pump and the rack will increase the life of both components. We then integrated a flush mount sight glass, to help set the proper level in the system. After dealing with many others that have no way to tell the proper height, we felt this was a must! To top it all off we made all the fitting connections AN ORB thread, so you can utilize either the included stock style fittings, or convert to AN or any other style needed. Replaceable fittings are also nice for service, if you ever damage a thread all you have to do is replace the fitting, not the whole can! Finished with a hard black anodizing you have a piece that not only works well but looks great doing it!
