You're an animal
Absolutely amazing!
Very very cool stuff.
Some people are so easily impressed.

1. This car was just sold. Obviously the owner took off his MBC before letting it go and the car was on stock boost. As David mentioned, the car was tuned by Dynoflash with a mbc that is now gone. So the car was boosting 19psi (stock) in the baseline pull, when it was tuned for 21 or 22 psi. Not exactly a test case.

2. Just getting rid of two resonators and the Cat should yield 20whp easily.

3. So, you raised the boost 3psi, removed the CAT and resonators and gained 40 hp. Why is that even news, let alone "amazing."

What Smoggie said makes sense. I know what exhaust this is that was removed because unless it was custom, there arent to many systems that incoperate two resonators. Adding a test pipe to a turbo car is like the difference in drinking a 7-11 slurpee with a hollow coffee stirrer to a garden hose. Whos gonna flow more? He did make more hp on less boost which is good but I do recall Al himself saying that If a car is tuned for a particular boost level and that level drops, the vehicle will not offer optimum performance. The original setup sounds as if the car was quiet as night and intended to be that way and to be honest, i like it when my car is quiet but still quick. Even if its gonna be down on 2 ponies.

I don't disagree with you, notec or smog. Smog has just been riding my butt lately and I'm getting tired of it.

The power should be up, it was up, which was the point of the thread and the tune still is not been done for this application.

I understand dave didnt work any magic voodoo to get this kind of power, but if to take anything from this comparassion its that sometimes simplier (and cheaper- even used and dented parts) are better.
A downpipe advertising that it has 2 resonators and will be a quiter sound, could def make a noob jump on it- not telling you that this takes away from hp
