are you sure it was installed correctly?
you are in socal and SUN AUTO USA is also located in SoCal, have you tried contacting them or have their tech take a look at your install?
I found this kinda odd.. hmmm.. we have sold and installed many of these kits and never had a single issue.

I am trying to install one of these right now, but I am having difficulty determining which are the 2 correct harness plugs?
There are 4 plugs on the harness that came with the unit, one goes to each coil pack, then you add one ground wire to each coil pack, which leaves the last two plugs that go to the existing factory harness.
Can some one point me in the right direct on the existing harness plugs?
