I think you may stand corrected. Vishnu tuning does an ECU reflash ONLY and gets 40-45 whp gains! Costs 750 though. They quote 100-110 flywheel HP gains on just an ECU flash. Are you saying this isnt possible without tuning?

FWIW any reflash can make good gains, even if their not custom.. Just keeping the boost from tapering gains you half or more of those gains.. Anyone who has worked with an Evo for awhile can build a nice map thats safe and can make around 40whp.... Some are just more conservative than others when they do generic reflashes.

The key is that the enduser must log his car for some time to verify that there isn't any additional knock in critical areas that could be detrimental to the engine and performance.

Would you mind sort of double checking my logic?
Say I'm running a pretty much stock car and want to get rid of as much taper as possible. The adjustments I am going to make:

Boost Desired Engine load (All 3) = Set all of them to 159.4
Max Wastegate Duty (All 3) = Set them all to 100
Boost Limit = Set to 255
Turbo Boost Error Correction = Taking the positive values and decreasing them from values of say -10 to -5? Not sure about this one

Does that seem right?

Read the instructional thread in the Ecuflash forum. This is off topic.

I don't see a sticky. I've read other boost control threads but people don't provide reasoning behind what they do...so I'm just trying to double check what I believe is right.

I'll get out of this thread.
