put it this way, I am retuning my evo for it

But you retune it every time you fill up.

Mike,

If for example i am running 23psi spike, sitting to around 21psi until around 6500 and then tappering to around 17psi until the rev limiter, if i install will i keep a higher boost until the rev limiter?

From what i know and read there is no way to keep the IX tappering down, because of the Mivec...

Correct me if i am wrong but from your spring rate i understand that the car will not drop under 19psi (red spring) under any circumstances... Is this statement correct or not?

Red - 19-24 PSI

We will be pre-assembling ALL units with Red springs. If someone wants a lower rated spring, it will need to be special ordered and it will be assembled specifically for that person.

That part looks wicked easy to install. Are my eyes deceiving me or is it really that easy to install?

Is it too soon to ask for what the pricing will be of this unit?

To kouzman:

The actual amount of boost and the boost curve seen on a given application will vary based on numerous cirsumstances (boost controlling device being used, actual settings of actuator and boost controller, supporting modifications, operational efficiency range of the given turbo, etc.), but for the most part, yes, tapering will be limited. And you are correct in assuming that you cannot adjust boost pressure down below the base actuator pressure.

To: NoTec:

Yes it's easy to install. It helps tremendously to have the radiator fan removed, however, for even easier access, otherwise, you run the risk of damaging the fins on the back side of the radiator given the limited space to work within. The photos above were taken with the radiator fan removed.

To Inprogress:

The final price is yet to be determined as we're expecting it to go up slightly from the diaphragm based units ($190), but for the time being, the few units that are available with some of the dealers are being sold for the $190 price.

well i just got done installing my Actuator (new piston design).... it was stupid easy to install.... the car does pull harder and smoother, i peak at 24 and tapper to 21-22 at redline and i still have the 9.8 hotside and stock O2 housing....

thanks again to Mike and Luis at Forge

I'm really digging the dual-port capabilities! It opens the door for the boost controller I've been looking at. I'll be ordering one of these once I get my IX turbo!

Keep in mind, that would be something we would have to custom build for you. We wouldn't normally keep any on the shelf built this way.

Id definately get a retune

If this does as its advertised, then you will be holding much more boost at redline, while being tuned for 16-19psi@redline or so with the normal taper associated with the stock unit

Understood, how long would the lead time be? And would I order it directly from you? or someone like TTP?

Also, since this is internally gated, I'd hook the EBC up backwards compared to a normat TiAL external gate since when the piston goes up it closes the gate instead of opening it, right?

You would need to place an order with a dealer right now.

Pressure to the top reference alone will open the unit.

Pressure to the bottom reference alone will do nothing.

With pressure to both references, the unit will only open once the pressure to the top overcomes the spring tension as well as the bottom pressure reference.

(Keep in mind, these units mount up-side-down, so the references I'm refering to would be as shown in the digital rendering posted already.)
