Got tuned today....

basic rundown of the car
HKS 272s
Buschur TBE
intake
walboro fuel pump
MBC set at 21 psi
apexi power fc

Made 301 to the wheels. post a graph when I get a chance just wanted to get some opinions on if I should be making more power or not.
Tuned by Performance Concepts in Mufreesboro,TN seemed like some really nice guys, and very helpful.

93oct. crap gas from a crappy gas station kept having detenation issues and had to pull back timing, on Mustang dyno, car feels and pulls great now though. to be exact it was 301.4 at 6611rpm/104.3mph with a max torque of 276.4 @ 4876rpm/76.9mph is what the sheet I have says.

I'm suprised you didn't make more than that with 272/272 cams...I made 300 on a dyno with my current mods

I was not aware that there was a tuning shop so close to me. I'm in Clarksville so Murfreesboro isn't that far. I have the same mods as you except for the 272s and Walboro.

MIVEC isn't what does it - it's the much better turbo and revised coolant passages in the head that allow for more boost on pump gas.

Looks like they dyno'd it in 4th gear, though. Should be doing it in 3rd...

MIVEC DOES play a big part of it as far as power being made on a IX. Is not all from the turbo or running higher boost..

dissagree

MIVEC is only on the intake, Ex cam is the same. I agree with WARR on this one. Turbo makes the power. The turbo in the IX is far superior to the VIII. Superior lubrication and thermal eficiancy is where the IX's 4g stands out. (It evolved)
