TTP-Flash review
TTP-Flash review
I have been experimenting w a few vendor flashes uses my car as guinea pig. My mods are listed in my signature... I don't want to reveal the other vendors as it may cause problems... so Ill only mention my last tune w/ TTP Engineering. This was my final and best tune out of them all. Basically what i did was send in my mod list and stock rom. I recvd the revised maps from the vendors and datalogged for final tune. Brand A made a significant amount of power, but i would run into a high knock count every once in a while. it wasnt consistent.. some runs were clean...some not. Could never figure out why. Brand B had no knock at all... but power was down and honestly i couldnt tell the difference from stock. Most had gone back/forth about 5 times. The TTP flash was 49usd and right away the tune was right on point. Maybe i was just lucky... but it made just as much power as Brand A... just w/out the nasty knock. I dont know too much about how the maps should look... but w/out sounding like an idiot.. the TTP maps had better gradient 'flow' instead of blocks jumping around here n there, if u know what i mean...? The car runs extremely smooth. I have the boost now at 24psi and it runs w/out issues that i want to turn it up more... but resisting.
Its been raining in houston.... so im waiting for my chance to get my first 12 sec timeslip! hope to break into the 12s soon...
TTP Flash totally worth the money... in fact i experimented because it was so cheap... and turned out to be my best map... even from vendors charging 2-3 times more w high reps as well! my comparison is just that MINE... not scientific at all... just my experience w/ 3 email tuners...

There are some programs out there that let the tuners fine tune the map so that it's a smooth even flow from cell to cell. Unfortunately a few of the "e-mail" tuners don't know or don't use those programs.
But in their defense, tuning by e-mail is hit or miss anyways. Every car is different no matter how similar the mods. I've personally seen an 05 Evo take gobs and gobs of timing on pump gas that no other car could take without knocking. So suffice it to say that TTP has received rave reviews, there is the off chance that they got lucky with their "mail flash". Not knocking their abilities, just providing an alternative thought. The only real comparrison of tuners would be to let them both hack at your ECU while the car is on the road or on a dyno.
