Update - So far all is good!!

I am up at school and the temp outside is now 30*F I have not driven the car in two days and I just went for a drive. Started up fine, no problems at all. It did not even sound strained.

I will update you once temps drop even more.

nanolithium batteries are not affected by cold weather in the same way as traditional car batteries.

Keep us posted. This is really intrigueing. Have you done any voltage tests? I'm curious if voltage remains relatively stable with such a small battery. Do you notice any lights dimming or anything when you have all the accessories on?

Even with stock battery my headlights would dim when I hit the window up or down switch. With stock battery I would also notice the interior lights would dim as well.

I don't have a stereo system or anything that draws heavy voltage.

So far as I can tell this battery works exactly the same as stock but just weighs over 30lbs less.

Another update - The temp outside was 30* F. There was about 4" of snow on the ground and on the car as well. I had not driven the car in 5 days.

Result - Started up no problem at all, sounded slightly strained but not by much.

Voltfreaks is based in California, so I imagine the batteries have already been well tested to heat.

Another update - Temps are dropping around here, today after letting the car sit for a day, I started it with the temp at 18*F. Sounded a little strained but worked non the less.

More updates to come.

Please forgive my ignorance, as I only have lived in warm climates, but do normal batteries strain during cold start-ups?

yes batteries do strain after being in cold weather. It takes a bit more to crank over thats why most batteries will have the CCA (cold cranking amps) obviously not because of the weather but in certain conditions, these CCA are important. Some cars are even so sensitive that if the battery drops below 11.0 V during cranking, the car wont start.

WOW Can it really be this good?
I think that the Amps will be amplified from the HKS DLI...!!?
Please correct me.

I don't have a DLI, and I don't see what that would have to do with anything anyway.

DLI is an ignition amp, and has nothing to do with starting a car.

Check the first post - I updated it a bit.

I did not drive the car for nearly two weeks and the battery finaly died. I used another battery to jump start the car and all is well. The 3lb battery charged up very quickly.
