Thumbs up Speed Element Tune :)

Just wanted to give Andy @ Speed Element a big thumbs up for the tune he performed on my car. My wife and I drove to Fremont from central Cali (Fresno area) to have Speed Element install an MBC and do a tune on my otherwise stock Evo. Andy left a very, very good impression on us. He is likeable, knowledgeable, eager to answer any questions I had, and even offered to drop us off at a nearby mall while he did the install/tune on the car, which was above and beyond anything we were expecting. The tune on the car came out fantastic. My car only has a K&N filter and the MBC that Andy installed, and I'm getting 267.6hp and 286tq at the wheels (@23psi). The car is much more responsive and the power is better throughout the band. It seems to run smoother, and I'm pretty sure I'm getting better gas mileage than I was before, but I'll have to post my new mpg in a few days after I refuel (middle of next week).

Thanks again, Andy! You ROCK!

I think the Bay Area is blessed with some good tuners. I am glad you had good results with Andy. You are not the first

Not bad! So just an MBC and drop in no TBE?

I have a TBE bought to get a fuelpump wonder what my 8 will do.

They should get you some good numbers. Just FYI they use a DynoDynamics which reads lower than most dynos. I was tuned on one back in GA and I made 272whp on an 03 VIII with TBE, intake, and MBC on 93 oct. When i got tuned for 91 oct (VERY conservative and needs to be redone) i made 252. On a Dynojet that come out to around 312hp on 93 and 292 on 91.

To the OP with a TBE expect to jump up a good bit along with a re-tune.

Really hope i can get tuned by SpeedElement soon! Great numbers too mate!

Nope, no TBE on my car! Stock exhaust. I'm dying to get a TBE now though. Unfortunately, I need to get new tires soon so the TBE may have to wait a bit longer...
