Prosport gauges ftw.

I installed my prosport boost gauge this weekend. Really nice gauge. Nice feature is the dark face when its off, and lights up when the vehicle fires up.
I wired it up to test the amber and white colors. I found the amber was really close to my factory gauges which would have been nice. Problem was it was much harder to see than the white, so I just wired it up for white color. Took me a while to build the nerve to drill into the firewall, but all went well. Awesome product from Prosport.

. Some small things I did were to paint all the screws that came with the kit black, to match my interior. I couldnt find the right screws I needed in black, but it turned out nice anyhow. The silver screws would have stood out and looked too cheesy, imo.

hard to tell in this pic, but I used a unitbit to drill into the top half of the steering column cover to route the wire loom for more of a clean look.

sorry for the glare, it was really bright out when I was takin the pics. This is powered down. its so bright you can still see the gauge, usually its just really dark.

I have Defi gauges in my car, but a bunch of my friends and my fiancee run the Prosports and overall everyone is very happy with them. If I were to do it all over again I probably would save the hundreds of dollars and get Prosports instead. Stay away from the electric boost gauge and get the cheaper mechanical one though.

So I had the prosport gauge for a while. I am really happy with it overall. I do notice that ONLY while Im tracking the car, the needle will randomly get stuck at the "0" position, for a little while, then function again(only happens when I start the car after its been shutoff). The 0 position is also where my needle rests when the power is off, so I think maybe the cornering forces/heat play into effect somehow because that is the only time I can reproduce it. I contacted prosport, they were great, sent me a new gauge right away. Unfortunately the new one does the same thing. Overall I am still going to keep the gauge because it is a nice piece, accurate-- from what I hear on this forum, and from my mityvac gauge.
Like I said though, only happens when I track the car. on the streets it never has done it. Its a fairly minor annoyance, something I can trade off to have an accurate gauge and to me, an easy to read gauge as well. ( 5 psi labeled increments vs 10 psi increments)

I asked the question while my car was on the dyno and my tuner said they were spot on...

As for the Defi's he mentioned them being several pounds off...

My Defi reads 2 psi high. Paid over $700 I believe for all three gauges and control unit. Like the previous guy stated, if I did it over, I would get prosports as well or the AEM digital gauges.

I've had prosport gauges in the past (maybe they've changed since then), but had nothing but problems with them going hay-wire eventually.
