Thumbs down ETS upper IC pipe

So my Upper pipe got taken off the other day by my friends at STM for my cars overhaul. And i bet you cant guess what they found. Ill give you a hint Import Junky had this same problem.

Yep covered in rust on the inside. How cool. I ordered this pipe back in mid 2007 and you know when you buy a advertised Stainless Steel piping you dont expect the rusting. I guess I was wrong. I have never ran meth, just 100 octane and 93. The worst part is im not the only person who has had this problem. It was discovered by someone before whos thread got locked. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...d-my-uicp.html
After reading through this tread ETS will change out the IC pipe if you pay the shipping which last I checked I did when i first ordered the part. Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. Guess I will be running Buschur Power on this part now. Pics will come as soon as STM sends them to me.

Did you contact ETS about this? That should have been the first step, IMO.

Get in touch with ETS first before posting stuff like this. This kind of thread was already started and ETS did say they will make it work for the customer, so call them.

Yes, I remember reading about this that the ETS pipes were made of Mild Steel, causing rust to develop. As the others have said, contact ETS asap.

What everyone else said. Remember every product has some flaws, nothing is perfect. Give them a chance to rectify the situation and I'm sure they will. Posting this even after reading that they made a mistake and would replace it is pretty ****ty.

Sounds to me like you bought a powdercoated mild steel pipe. Talk to ETS, they do a great job taking care of their customers so give them a chance to stand behind their product before you start bashing.

We used to offer both mild steel and stainless steel. If you didn't select the stainless steel option, you received a powdercoated mild steel pipe. We will warranty the mild steel piping and replace your upper pipe with a stainless steel pipe for $75.00 plus the return of your old pipe.

We no longer ship out any mild steel or use mild steel in the shop. For the past year everything has been stainless steel.

Give me a call at 360-263-3748 and we will take care of you.

Thanks,

Michael

Your kidding right.

ETS will upgrade the OP to SS piping AL piping if he desires. ETS never led the OP into thinking he was buying something different. SS was always optional look on the site. They have since switched to using nothing but SS piping. And will upgrade you cheap if you desire. Or screw it just go spend another 300 for a Buschur part. ETS won't be butt hurt no worries

ETS CS is second to none in this industry and no one on here can dispute that

Did you even read the other thread you posted? Did you see that there was a resolution? Why not post in that thread as oppose to starting a whole new one?

March would have been right at the main change date. The easiest thing to do is take a magnet to the pipe, if it sticks... it's mild. If not, it's stainless.

What piping option did you go with? if it's brushed, it's for sure SS

Thanks!

Michael
