Thumbs up Thumbs up for MAP, Torque solutions driveshaft bushings review and kiggly HLA.

Just wanted to say thanks for everything to the guys at MAP. I ordered a few quarts of motul to do a brake flush and surprised to see it got here before xmas because I ordered it about a week ago. That is really awesome because now I can get this stuff taken care of alot sooner than what I had planned.

...THEN, I got another surprise from them. I opened my gifts from my g/f this morning and found a set of Torque Solutions billet driveshaft bushings and a Kiggly Racing HLA regulator. After thanking her for the gifts I asked where she had ordered it from. She mentions MAP and then says, "they were really nice people, I was really impressed with them".
I have always liked dealing with them, and they always get back to me quickly when I have questions.

I think my g/f said she talked to Adam or Chris at MAP, so whoever exactly it was we just wanted to say Thanks for everything
'Merry Christmas'

--So I finally got a chance to install my new Kiggly Racing HLA and Torque Solutions driveshaft carrier bushings. Here are some pics and a small how to for the driveshaft carrier bushings.

I am lucky enough to have access to a lift. First, get under the car and un bolt one carrier bushing at a time. Once you get the bolts off, you simpy pry each half of the stock bushing off. There is a top half and a bottom half. They can be stuck on there pretty good and it may be easier to pry up the center bushing and spacers first if you wish.

When you got the old ones off you are ready to install these pieces in. The big one goes on the bottom with the spacer going in between the mount and the vehicle.

The new bushings are a snug fit so you have to line them in pretty straight. They all went in smoothly except for one, which I have read others on here having similar experiences. The one I had trouble with was the forward passenger side one. After examining it, it looks like Mitsubishi with all their glory and knowledge decided to make that hole a bit smaller. I used a scotch brite green pad to clean it up, and pretty much had to press in the new bushing with some pliers and a socket on the other end. The socket I used was a bit larger to let the bushing slide through but would keep the mount from getting bent. It sounds extreme but I didnt need much to press it in, just needed more leverage than what my hands could squeeze through.

The Kiggly HLA is a simple install, and even comes with instructions for install with tightening torques. Its pretty much removing the valve cover and removing the old one found on top of the head on the dri side. remove the three bolts, install the HLA, and re install valve cover. I didnt really get good pics of that install, but its straightforward.

After driving around with the Torque Solutions Bushings I can honestly say I feel the difference. Accel and decel feel smoother. You will definately notice the slop being gone when you install these, even shifting feels smoother. THese things pretty much plant your driveshaft mount to the vehicle. You will notice with the stock ones you get play with the driveshaft mount, with these there is none. There may have been a VERY SLIGHT increase in harmonics, but I cant say for sure if what Im hearing is from that. I have a walboro, mil spec cat with 3" full exhaust so my evo already is noisy enough as it is.

The review of the Kiggly HLA, well honestly I dont know what I should be noticing from it. I got this installed for what its designed to do- help protect my engine and help keep that oil in the sump. Its good insurance to have for an engine thats gonna have alot of track time on it.
