Cobb BPV-
Well,
the search has been on for us to find a good recirculating bpv the past year or so, ever since APS stopped exporting theirs to the USA.
We started on our own design, which I then put on hold when we saw the small compact synchronic was coming out... we have used quite a few of those recently.... in push and pull style configurations and have had good success! Each car seemed to required a different configuration based on the cars modifications (cams, idle vacuum etc)...
Ive still wanted something along the lines of the APS... and Cobb has delivered.
The valve is very nice, compact, has a single port, designed to work as a push style (with fully recirc, 50% vent)... It has a teflon impregnated tapered piston and some other nice features!
I found that on the EVO X MR and the RA cars with SST, that some of the other valves would have an odd dead spot effect on certain upshifts that made the car feel odd...
I am happy to report that the Cobb valve doesnt have this effect!
I am overall very pleased with the valve and it gives us another fantastic option for the recirculated guys.
Thanks cobb!
We will certainly be using more of these!
Cheers

I have been running it 100% recirc,
but I never had an issue running the APS as it was delivered (with partial vent) even on MAF'd roadrace cars.
It responds EXTREMELY quick to throttle inputs which I like,
I cant do anything at the track right now, as its snowing in the Northeast hee he!

thanks for the review. two inevitable questions:
- how does it compare to the synapse dv in response speed?
- how does it compare to the synapse dv for part throttle dv stutter?

sorry emptied LOL!
the cobb seems to vent EXTREMELY fast... faster than the APS used too,
Im running it on the SST gearbox right now, and its performing well,
I hope to get 1-2 more on some cars here shortly to evaluate it in some different environments!
Cheers

I'm on the fence of
Tial/synapse dv/ Cobb
I need one that doesn't flutter. Obviously all these hold boost well.

I do not like tial on these cars especially on small frame turbos (my opinion)
synapse works well
cobb seems to work best for me so far! driveability wise!
